Hi, I have read this and I have contacted MediaTemple hosting and found that they support Cronjobs. But I really struggle to figure this out, can you please help me. This is the article at MT for cronjobs: https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204403844/using-cron

Great if you can help me out

Hi, it might have something to do about me starting to use a firewall (I am sending them a support ticket now) through https://sucuri.net and I need to whitelist your IP. Can you please provide me your IP in the meantime?

I have whitelisted IP 175.142.158.174. Hope that helps

This is the support answer back from sucuri.net: CloudProxy does not handle FTP connections, you will need to use the origin IP 205.186.128.59 or the domain ftp.webjobbing.com. Here you can read more about it: https://kb.sucuri.net/cloudproxy/Troubleshooting/ftp-or-email-or-cpanel-is-not-working

one more: "They can use the domain "ftp.webjobbing.com" to connect via FTP, CloudProxy does not handle FTP connections, it only works with port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS)."

hey Oddgeir,

I can connected with your FTP server, and modified on this file JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/cron.php.

And I've tried to follow this documentation from https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204403844/using-cron

But it seems like the command path is not correct, can you consult with your webhosting provider am I configure correctly? Because not all the hosting is using the same command path.

php -q /var/www/vhosts/webjobbing.com/components/com_easysocial/cron.php

Keep us updated then when your webhosting provider response you.

Hi Arlex!

From Support MediaTemple:

"This is a DV server, you should have all the access you need to make any adjustments or modifications to the cronjob. The person helping however may want to attempt to setup the crons inside Plesk"

Plesk access:
https://jlml-gfxg.accessdomain.com:8443/login_up.php3
Username: admin
Pw: 19MnfQIDFb*_UL

https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204403694/troubleshooting-common-issues-with-cron-jobs

More from Support MediaTemple: Jon R (MT) CHAT history:
"I see 2 cronjobs
One just work every minute and the other ever 15 minutes

Oddgeir Lium (my response):
But their support (StackIdeas) say: "But it seems like the command path is not correct, can you consult with your webhosting provider am I configure correctly? Because not all the hosting is using the same command path."

php -q /var/www/vhosts/webjobbin…onents/com_easysocial/cron.php

Jon R (MT):
1:15 pm
"Unfortunately, we do not support cron
As in I could not tell you if that is correct or not
I do see you are calling php and to a specific path
The best I could tell you is to ensure that file exists at that location"

By default the DV server reads from the var/www/vhosts/domains/httpdocs folder. So it would depend on where the cron is running from. I do not see issues on the server itself that would prevent crons from running. We also do have these articles that can assist with cron issues as well: https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204403844/using-cron and https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204403694/troubleshooting-common-issues-with-cron-jobs. For the input error specifically I was able to find some information: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6684075/cron-job-error-could-not-open-input-file . The first article though on how Plesk creates crons can give you some examples of file paths with making crons in Plesk.

Hey Oddgeir,

Your hosting provider reply is not helping at all and as much as we'd like to help, they are not cooperating at all. I always thought Media Temple's support is awesome but it seems like ever since Godaddy bought them over, their support went downhill.

Anyway, can you just ask them for the SSH access? Replying back and forth is wasting a lot of time and resources. If you could get the SSH access, I will just set this up for you without relying on their control panel.

Hey Oddgeir,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I already help you configured cronjob command in your SSH server, the email should be sent out to your site user.

By the way, the current setting I set 20 emails will send out every 10 minute.

Can you give it a check is it working now?

Hi Arlex, and thank you very much. Looks like the emails have been sent http://www.screencast.com/users/Webjobbing/folders/Jing/media/784e3674-ba9b-4037-8b54-6a606935f959.

But I have got about 110 "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" messages in my inbox: http://www.screencast.com/users/Webjobbing/folders/Jing/media/6caa0d2a-7deb-4792-b5bb-131972754857

with this message: http://www.screencast.com/users/Webjobbing/folders/Jing/media/a192bf60-1a4c-4b12-88d7-68facf39a4f7

I had a cleanup http://www.screencast.com/users/Webjobbing/folders/Jing/media/80a11d8d-e32c-44c5-a1b5-6f789819cc2b

but still got this: http://screencast.com/t/KcaoHLN2n which is strange because I get this: http://www.screencast.com/users/Webjobbing/folders/Jing/media/fb250605-746f-49c1-9cd9-d10268759e2a

I will contact support sucuri to check this out. That might be the reason for bounce back emails.

Hey there,

I've tried to temporary disable this com_users redirect options from this plugins http://webjobbing.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_plugins&view=plugin&layout=edit&extension_id=10157

and try to register in Joomla page, but I didn't receive any email for the account activate email after done the registration ( screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/AVL2AT3Ubf )

I suspect your current Joomla email configuration settings is not set correctly, perhaps you can consult with your hosting and see how it goes and keep us updated then.

Hi again, this is really frustrating. I contacted (mt) Media Temple again and this is from the chat:

Hello Oddgeir! I see that you are inquiring in regards to email, is that correct?

Oddgeir LiumLooks like webjobbing.com is not sending out emails

and not blacklisted: http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx#

when people register on the site they should receive an email (We have sent an activation code to your email. Please also check your spam box in any case.)

but they are not, and I have tested sending to myself and never receive

Is my email server settings set up wrong

at least something must be wrong

Jaime EOh no! That is not good to hear. I am sorry for any trouble this may be causing you. So sending email out from webjobbing.com does not appear to be receiving the emails you send out from webjobbing.com, is that correct?

Oddgeir LiumYes

I had some trouble with malware and being blacklisted but no more

blocking

Jaime EAh! Ok. Let’s have a look and see.

When you send out mail, are you doing this through an email client such as Apple Mail, Outlook, or Thunderbird?

Oddgeir LiumGood question, it´s just going through the site webjobbing.com utomaticly when people register. But they never receive mails (activation). So the issue is, people register but can't activate because they never get the mail.

This is from support StackIdeas when they try to register: and try to register in Joomla page, but I didn't receive any email for the account activate email after done the registration ( screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/AVL2AT3Ubf)

I suspect your current Joomla email configuration settings is not set correctly, perhaps you can consult with your hosting and see how it goes and keep us updated then.2016-02-19_1920 - arlexwong's library

Jaime EAh! Ok. So you are on the right path on what is occurring. First, if you have email going out from your website in order to attempt to send an activation email or any kind of reply from your website, this is a setting and also configuration on how your mail is being sent out. Let me explain a little further.

Your email is hosted here at (mt) Media Temple which is using the following DNS record:

MX records for webjobbing.com:

10 mail.webjobbing.com. 205.186.128.59

However, your website is hosted away from (mt) Media Temple with different set of IPs:

A|CNAME records for webjobbing.com:

webjobbing.com 192.124.249.9

http://www.webjobbing.com webjobbing.com.
192.124.249.9

If mail is being sent out from your website, you are sending out from your website’s IP 192.124.249.9 and not from here at (mt) Media Temple.

This means that other email services or companies will see this through reverse DNS, SPF record check, and other DKIM to see if you pass through their email filter and authenticity of where the email is coming from.

Thus, you may not be blacklisted; but other email services are automatically deleting your email before it hits an inbox because it is failing the areas of where email originates.

You will have to ensure you do some of the common ways to attempt and resolve this:

HOW CAN I CREATE AN SPF RECORD FOR MY DOMAIN?
https://mediatemple.…mmunity/products/dv/204404314/

MANAGING REVERSE DNS RECORDS FOR YOUR SERVER
https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204644500

HOW DO I ENABLE DOMAINKEYS ON MY DV SERVER?
https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204405554How can I create an SPF record for my domain? - Media TempleHow do I enable DomainKeys on my DV server? - Media TempleManaging Reverse DNS Records for Your Server - Media Temple

Oddgeir LiumNot sure what to say, this seems very complicated

"However, your website is hosted away from (mt) Media Temple with different set of IPs:

A|CNAME records for webjobbing.com:

webjobbing.com 192.124.249.9"

I am using sucuri.net for spam/virus protection/firewall etc. Maybe contact them for this issue?

Jaime EYou certainly can. However, the above articles are what you may want to use to authenticate your outgoing mail from your website. Otherwise, any third-party email service provider may have a set of filters about incoming mail and checking the origination and headers before allowing it to arrive to the inbox of a user.

Can I use some of MT services to help me out? Read

Jaime EUnfortunately, we do not have any service for this matter. I am sorry. You may need to look for a server or developer administrator who can set up the proper configurations so that mail going out from your website are also allowed.

Hey Oddgeir,

I would strongly advise you to subscribe to a transactional email provider. It seems like MT isn't really helping at all
