Can you try download my attachment file and replace in your site and see how it goes?
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\event\guests\guests.php
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\events\events.php
After you applied, you have to comment again and it will work in generate the new email notification.

I havent tried it yet, we dont use events too much. In the next update this would be fixed i gues right?

This weekend we are going to upgrade to .10 we now at .8
