first of all - no. i don't use the built in editor. base feedback is what i want to do is just type in an article and i don't feel like figuring out the modules and placement of features when i just want to write a quick article. basically the "toolbar" is just too spread out and the screen too modular. i just prefer a standard toolbar and input at this time.

that being said, i've gone through quite a few to get exactly what i'd like and have used jce, ark, nextgen and now back to tinymce and an expanded toolbar.

a few weeks ago one of my writers said she was having a hard time with the buttons working. i thought it was her but when i went and tried it, think like "create link" and "insert picture" were not working. CTRL-K was not allowing me to create a link either.

some buttons do work, many do not. i swapped editors and all do the same thing. i have removed the other editors in case they were causing a conflict but it's still happening. whatever conflict it caused could be hidden in a stylesheet but i'm at the end of my comfort zone in hacking up my site to get this going again.

fyi - standard joomla content is working fine and the editors work there w/o issue. it's only in easyblog where i'm having the issue.

any help appreciated in getting my editor working again. for now all i can do is do this in word and paste it in.
It seems like you are using very older version of Easyblog 5.0.5 , can I have the permission to help you update to 5.0.36 and see how it goes?

sure - feel free. i did check that but it says "up to date" so i didn't think it would be an issue.

also - 5.0.36 is newer than 5.0.5?

see the upgrade but no - still the same, but at least we know we're good on the overall software.

feel free to make a test post and highlight something and hit "create link" - it won't do it. insert picture won't do anything either.

thanks again for the help! we'll get this!

ok, while you're back in there fixing the editor, can you now also fix these issues the upgrade broke?

frontpage showcase module - no more pics, not a "showcase" per se. created a new one and it did the same thing. trying to set the category in a new module told me "invalid category" but if i tried again it would eventually take it.

blogging page - social > blogging

what the heck happened here?????

now not only does my editor still not work, but my site looks busted to hell.

i try to save an article i get a red error at top that i can close and it does save, but the error is annoying.

i appreciate your looking into why the editor didn't work right, but can you PLEASE get my sites showcase module back to working properly including the pictures and fix the blogging layout page?

changing the template didn't help - just busted in a different color.

please put a rush on this one - i'm trying to improve the looks of my site and this isn't helping.

1. Try open this file -> JoomlaFolder/configuration.php and edit following code :

public live_site = 'http://renegaderadio.net';

// Replace to
public live_site = '';

frontpage showcase module - no more pics, not a "showcase" per se. created a new one and it did the same thing. trying to set the category in a new module told me "invalid category" but if i tried again it would eventually take it.

2. I can't replicate this issue, it seems frontpage and module setting is look fine. You can refer on my attached screenshot below.

blogging page - social > blogging

what the heck happened here?????

3. May I know what theme you want to use? Because yesterday I checked in your site is using `Zinc Red` theme. Now I temporary switch it to use Wireframe.

changed theme to see if it would clear anything out. zinc red is fine.

is the create link working for you in easyblog? if so ill sneak away and call it a night. apilogies for my panic it just looked VERY strange but must have been me.

Hey there,

In the future you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies

I've just create a new test post in your site on frontend, it seems work fine. You can take a look of my video here : http://screencast.com/t/uZ4oaluxJXz

Can you provide us some screenshot which red line you referring?

Yes, I believe it might be browser cache issue, can you try clear your browser/Joomla/template cache and see how it goes?

actually w/o editing it things were working fine. the upgrade must have fixed the red bar at the top after saving cause it's all green and good now.

thank you as always for the quick help and i believe i'll mark this resolved and you all have a great weekend!

hold the fort. it still looked strange on the main blog page so i swapped the template back to red zinc.

now look at the front page. this is what i was seeing last night. also look at the social > blogging page.

both of those are hosed at this point again to what i was originally seeing.

and the editor quit working now so we're theme related.

Please help get this back up properly so i can do some major work this weekend!

i'm putting it back to wireframe or another *working* template but please put it on RED ZINC. if you're out for the weekend i hope you have a good one - and i'll get by with another template til monday.

we'll figure this out.

blogging page seems to have sorted out but see main page. i put it on red zinc and the main page is doing it again. i'll leave it alone for 30 min and check here before doing anything as i thought you were already off. (as you likely should be!)
