Details:
User's default Editor is JCE, selected during registration
User created a group, but editor was not available for entering the Group Description.
After group creation, editor remains not available for user to Edit/Update Group Description.
Editor is available (front and back-end) for admin to Edit/Update Group Description.
Changing the user's default editor yields same results. It is as if editor setting is set to None.

Please review and let me know how to provide user access to editor functionality.
Component> JCE Editor> Profiles> Default> Setup> Assignment: User Group> Registered - checked it. Works as expected now.

Thanks for the direction Mark.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. You will need to configure this under Settings > Groups > Layout, http://take.ms/ZRzsa . This will enforce the editor to render on the group's description based on the editor that you want.

Mark,

I reviewed my setting and found the Default Editor For Group Descriptions was already set to plg_editors_jce. It worked as expected for admin but not for the user? I changed the setting to TinyMCE and it does provide the user editor capability, and also changes the admin's group editor to TinyMCE.

I also tried setting the editor to Editor - CodeMirror and Inherit From Default but neither of these settings worked as they should have.

Please advise.

Hello Joshua,

If that is the case, then you need to review JCE's profile settings. I believe JCE is probably configured to only work for Super admins and not normal users.
