An editor button is showing on the frontend at the right of each blog entry. I have disallowed all functions except commenting and subscriptions for the public but the edit button allows a viewer to archive or delete any entry. Having searched through the forum I see this was an issue with a user back in June but I am not technically savvy enough to put the fix you described there (an amendment to the template.css or something like that.). I checked the public permissions on my joomla site and the public do not have permission to edit. Please can you help.
Hi Sheila,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

Ah, Ezrul, if I knew what FTP was and how to access it, my life would be complete. I will try to figure it out and get back to you by the time you're back online. I'm GMT - 8 so we seem to be opposite sides of the globe. Will let you know when I sort it out.

Hi Sheila,

Not a problem. You can consult with your webhosting service provider on how can you get access to your FTP. In the meantime you can just provide us with your Joomla access so we can take a look on your settings.

If you are requested to submit your site details, you may do so under the tab Site Details below. Please be rest assured that these information will only be visible to the support team from Stack Ideas.

Hi Sheila,

Thank you for the access. I've checked your site and it seems like your joomla public user group will have the privilege to edit and etc as it inherited from super user group. Check my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/YZs63blV . When I check further it seems like public user will have the same permission privilege as super user as you can see from your backend > global configuration > permission > super admin, http://screencast.com/t/ufss3ftv .

Not really sure why that happen and it seems like there will be an issue when you are trying to remove super admin privilege as it will hit this error when I'm trying to do so, http://screencast.com/t/mqOH5jGrVH . Not really sure how can I change the permission there. Perhaps you can try to consult with Joomla tech guy and see if they can do something about it.

Hope these help.
