I just wanted to flag up a possible glitch. Twice in the past two days
I¹ve opened a live article in easyblog to make a minor amends and, when
I¹ve hit save, the entire article content has been erased, leaving a
blank story live on the site.

We are using the latest version.

Maybe validation should check the post to see if its within 20% of the original character count, if not should show admin warning?
Hi lawrencehowlett,

I believe EasyBlog doesn't behave like that. I cannot replicate this issue with our local.

By the way, it looks like your account isn't tied up with any subscriptions on our site. Is there any mistake on our end? Would it be possible for you to contact us at https://crm.stackideas.com and provide us with the order reference and your username so that we can fix this up for you?

Please advise.
Thanks.

We've been experiencing the exact same issue, however it seems to be random and inconsistent.

EasyBlog version: 3.9.16263

@lawrencehowlett have you noticed any pattern from your side?

Hello lawrencehowlett,

Sorry for the late reply. I've tested it on your site to edit the existing blog post and the content is still there after I saved it. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-01-14_1256.png . Can you specify which blog post that has this issue?

it seems to be completely random and inconsistent- there is no pattern, I would say 1 in 25 edits does it as an approx. But with 1000s of articles going on to the site, its becoming a huge problem for our team of editors.

Hello lawrencehowlett,

I can't really tell the cause because was unable to replicate it. However, let say if one of your editors facing this issue, ask them to report the blogpost and their username. We will check based on that information.

Please try it until you see it happening - do it 25 times and one of those will be deleted. Please confirm when test complete.

As it is completely random and not tied to a specific post.

@lawrencehowlett did you find any resolution to this? Do you still have the same problem on the latest version (3.9.19775)?

We've just discovered two blog posts that have blanked without even accessing them, so re-writing them is painful as we don't have copies and don't know when they disappeared.

Hello,

It's most likely that there are some "javascript" errors with your editor which prevents the saving from happening correctly. I can't really pinpoint to the exact problem unless you could provide us with the access to the site to troubleshoot this

Sorry for late reply to this,
Can you try update to latest version of Easyblog and see this issues is it still persists?

Because I have tried to edit on my testing article post and save again, it seems like work fine for me.

If you can able to see this issues again, can you provide us some details regarding this?
Example :
- Which blog post having this issues
- which category

Same problem here. Seems to randomly clear all of the content before posting. Here is a printout of all the errors on the page:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1168842/Administration%20-%20Editing%20Post.pdf

I'll try disabling the reported plug-in.

Only javascript error is a warning: JQMIGRATE: jQuery is not compatible with Quirks Mode
jquery-migrate.js:43 console.trace()jquery-migrate.js:43 migrateWarn

edit: Disabling the plug-ins removed the error msgs but the problem persists. It happened when I was editing in the HTML editor.
I'm using EasyBlog 3.9.19775 - Joomla 3 (latest stable)

Hello Greg Ramage,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I felt a bit confusion here because all the username is different when you guys reply on this post thread.

Also I'm feel very curious about this issues because no user complain about this before, i would like to investigate on this. I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead and provide us again with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this issues.

Hi, yes sorry about the posting confusion. Anyway, I figured out what causes it.
When I use any of the editor styles like this: http://imgur.com/HTBxahL from the menu it has a big chance of causing the bug.
I can give you access shortly to check it out.

Thanks!

Hello Greg,

I'm sorry but what is your exact issue? Because your screenshot is too small and I'm not really sure what is the picture referring to. Can you elaborate more on your issue and provide us your backend and FTP so we can have a better look on it? Please advise.

Hi Nick,

To be more clear and referring to the issue in the above thread, I think the problem is Joomla JCK (joomlack) which was my editor in EasyBlog. When I used some of the toolbar styles (that was the photo I posted) it bugs out and erases the entire post contents. Does not seem to happen now that I switched to TinyMCE.

I'll try to send the access soon, thanks!
