Currently there is no available setting to individually hide/visible the filter on the profile. If you wish to hide the filters, you need to tweak the code. You can take a look on this files:
/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/profile/default.php
/components/com_easysocial/views/profile/view.html.php
/administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/stream.php

About the language string, you can add the language string in en-GB.com_easysocial.ini . Hope this help
