Actually, in Easydiscuss there are similar feature with what you have mentioned above. Those feature is named "Role" feature as you can see at Backend>Components>EasyDiscuss>Role as shown http://screencast.com/t/jsbYvQ5eA. You can setup your desired user group to be labeled as you can see here http://screencast.com/t/ZQzXCRIn. Maybe you can give it a try and see how it goes .

Actually it is same feature as "Role" feature on current Easydiscuss, but there some modifications and customisations made to make it looked beautiful as it is now .
