I am sorry for the late reply for this. As I understand you here, you want completely remove the notification tab? (like as refer this screenshot :http://screencast.com/t/VeEi5WAtaXal). You can replace the file(in attachment) in the
DIR: ..\components\com_easydiscuss\themes\simplistic\toolbar.notification.php

I used the above attachment and it removed the notification icon, but now the notifications will not show on the easysocial toolbar. I have it set up to where the notifications are suppose to show up on the ES toolbar. Am i missing something?

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. It seems like the there is no alert for EasyDiscuss on your EasySocial->Alert. I have already discovered the EasyDiscuss and now it is on the Alert list ( See this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/8JTOZYNj).

i am not sure why it isnt there and how would i fix this?

You can discover the alert by:
1. Click Components->EasySocial->Alert->Discover->Click the Discover button on left top of the page.
