Hi,

How can we use ED as a Forum, Q&A and Support tickets on a single website?

A normal forum with a Categories & Sub-categories, open to registered members and have moderators.

Q&A will have a Categories & Sub-categories. Question must be approved by an assigned moderator first. Only assigned moderator can reply to new post to answer questions.

Support ticket will have a Categories & Sub-categories. All post is private. Moderator can reply to tickets.

Thanks for any help.
Hi Syabab,

This may be possible by categorizing the 3 types of forums you want to have.
- create 3 main categories(containers): forum, q&a, support
- create subcategories under the main categories. Users can select these categories when creating new discussion
- for support ticket categories, enable Enforce Posts To Be Private option
- configure permissions for each category according to your needs

I'm not sure if this satisfies your needs. You would have to try it out and see.

Where can we find this option for a single category?

Hi Supporter,

You should see the option inside the individual category's settings.

EDIT: Make sure the global private posting feature is enabled first.
Settings>General>General>Enable Private Postings

Hi Raymond,

To make the option visible it is compulsory to activate the "Enable Private Postings" in General Settings.
But doing so you allow user to make post private in every category... even those you don't want to enable the private posting...
There is thus a missing option to enable private posting by selected category only

Hey Supporter,

Yes it is possible to enforce private posts, but it is not possible to enforce public posts in selected categories. As long Syabab is not trying to enforce public posts in any of his categories, the method from the first reply is still applicable.

As for adding the option to enforce public posts, this will be a feature request.

I'm stuck here as well...I think it will be much better & powerful feature if the option is in a single Category settings.

I think I did add this here, and in a Feature Request but it's not there anymore, so I assumed it was rejected.
