Sorry for late reply to this,
It seems like this discussion have a lot of the reply and your limit the reply per load is set to "30", after reply more than 30, then it will show "load more" button, so when you try click on that latest reply permalink, then it will not work.

To fix this, can you try set your reply filter tab to "latest", so the latest reply view show on the first post?

It what I was talking before.
We use ED as classic forum.
So user complains, that it is very uncomfortable now...

When users press on tab "latest" posts displays in reverse order - it is uncomfortable.

Now, when users get notifications they must to make to much actions - open link, then press tab "Latest".

I see only one way to fix these problem - to integrate classic pagination with page numbers.

I our case all topics have too much replies, so users complains, that they need to press "More Replies" button every time they read any topic.

Sorry but there is no work around for this currently.
