I added a custom field for ED and set the permissions. The field displays but not as I want it to.

I want it to be a clickable URL that editors can add (not regular members). I tried entering it as html but this didn't work. How would I accomplish this?

And for the future, it would be nice to have an option to choose which category(ies) a custom fields displays in.
Hi Paul,

I believe you can set which user group can add custom fields in the custom fields permission section. Is it working for you?

For clickable url fields and category specific display, currently these are not possible. Perhaps you can start a feature request for this in our feature request category.

yes the group settings work fine. I'm trying to figure out how to make the custom fields useful though and they pretty much aren't if you can't interact with them and refine the output to end users. allowing basic html functionality would make a big difference and if there is some roadblock to that, allowing the same bbcode tags that are allowed in the forum seems reasonable?

Another thing that when you present the custom fields on the front end, it looks clunky to have a table header "Custom Fields" Putting all of the custom fields in one spot under a tab is pretty rudimentary. Be nice to be able to define where to place the custom fields.

I will do as you suggested but last time I made a suggestion on this topic a couple of weeks ago, it wasn't responded to at all.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for your feedback and you can definitely add the explanation to your feature request post.

The purpose of the feature request category is to collect ideas from users and let others discuss and decide if they want the feature to be implemented too. As such, it is actually normal if you do not see any replies.

If it's a feature that is widely requested, we will add it in the future.

Thanks for understanding Paul, if there are enough users requesting for such feature, we'll be glad to review it.

Democracy is fine but sometimes a Benevolent Dictator is needed. (Mark?)

Hey Paul,

Hm, I do understand that you need such a feature but if everyone also has their own vision of how EasyDiscuss should work, it would end up with a million different features that isn't being used by anyone

I will consider these functionality and see if we could push this into the next release.

Thanks for understanding Paul, appreciate it very much.
