3) Composer not showing, instead JCE although it is set to use Composer.

Hey Andrew,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

1) Having some error #200 when trying to edit / update a post.

The reason why you hitting this error is most likely because you haven't submit this user permission "publish_action" for Facebook review, so when this user trying to save the post, it do not have permission to autopost to their Facebook profile page.

To temporary fix this, you can disable this setting from backend > Easyblog > autopost > facebook > Allow Authors To Use Their Facebook Account - NO Screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/LwJUfKziUTiM

Then follow the documentation here how to submit for review.
-> http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/autoposting/setting-up-facebook-app

2) Embedding YouTube in the blog - original 3.9 blog post video does not work.

Do you mean when you editing your existing post which created from Easyblog 3.9? If yes, can you provide us which post are you mention that so I can help you take a look on this.

3) Composer not showing, instead JCE although it is set to use Composer.

I suspect one of the possibility is the user profile already set JCE editor by default so it will not show composer when you create blog post that time. Check my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/le3RczMrg9
Hope this helps.

Hi Arlex,

Thanks...

1) This user has always been blogging and has always been using autoposting to Facebook etc. This issue only started since our upgrade to EB5.

2) Same blog as above, but I got the video to show. Even after getting the error above it still saved it - it seems.

3) Yes, I saw that... But how can we change it to the new Composer for that user? The Composer option is not listed.

Thanks,

Andrew

PS... The SI Forum opens all links (screenshots etc) in the same window. So when you start replying and then click on a link to a screenshot, etc. and then want to return to the forum post your partly written reply has gone... Might want to change this...

Hi Andrew,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Regarding your questions:
1. Having some error #200 when trying to edit / update a post. This user has always been blogging and has always been using autoposting to Facebook etc. This issue only started since our upgrade to EB5.
As my colleague mentions before, this issue is related to Facebook apps permission to publish to Facebook. In order for the user to be able to publish to Facebook, thus fix this issue, you need to edit the Facebook apps and submit a request permission for publish_action to Facebook. You can follow steps provided here: http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/autoposting/setting-up-facebook-app .

2. Embedding YouTube in the blog - original 3.9 blog post video does not work.
I seems can't replicate this issue locally. I have tried create a blogpost using JCE editor and embedded video from youtube and it is working fine. Am I missing anything here?

By the way, if you're curious why EasyBlog Composer do not load on the legacy post (older blogpost) is because the new composer editor stores a whole load of meta data in the content itself. Hence, there is no way to migrate the existing html codes into a composer block. This is why, when you edit a post which was created with a WYSIWYG editor, it always falls back to it instead (do not load EasyBlog Composer).

3. How can we change it to the new Composer for that user? The Composer option is not listed.
You can choose default for that user. So, it will fall back to EasyBlog settings.

Hope this helps and please advise.
Have a nice day.

Hi Mohd,

Please see updates below:

1) #200 error - I followed your docs instructions and got the following reply from Facebook:

publish_actions

Your app uses a social plugin or share dialog to share content to Facebook. These don't need write permissions and don't need to be submitted for review. Our sharing docs have more information, and you can find the most up-to-date plugin versions here.

I think Facebook doesn't understand your request. They are thinking that your users are trying to click on the "Share" button on the front end. You need to let them know that your site has many authors and some of them link their own Facebook account with your site. The app was created by your own account instead of theirs.

Mark, Facebook does not really give you much options. It is a standard Facebook request with fields, although quite different from your current documentation (needs an update)... I followed exactly what your documentation said to where I was able to... the rest has all changed on Facebook.

See the Facebook message I received:

Your app uses a social plugin or share dialog to share content to Facebook. These don't need write permissions and don't need to be submitted for review. Our sharing docs have more information, and you can find the most up-to-date plugin versions here.

How do we resolve this?

Kindly please read through my post above again. You need to explain to Facebook that you are NOT using the share dialog to share content on Facebook.

Mark... I HAVE read your post... Sorry, but have you checked the current application process in Facebook Developer section?

There is no way to communicate with them really. I will however try again and add your suggestion into one of the available fields and then we will see what they say.

Please update your docs to match the current version of the Facebook Developer section. That would be helpful and less confusing to users.

Current request to Facebook for "publish_actions":

Includes this:

NOTES:
Our site has many authors/bloggers and some of them link their own Facebook account with our site. This app is created by our own account instead of our users. They then have the ability to share their content or blogs via their own Facebook account or our own Facebook account.

1) Register on site
2) Create a blog and share to Facebook

and selected this option from the list of available options (NOT in your docs):

Lets people post to Facebook using a custom composer

see attached screenshot.

We can't really help you with this because this is between you and Facebook. We only provide the platform that allows your site to perform auto publishing. The rest is entirely up to Facebook. If they decide to reject this, there is really nothing we can do.

That is fine, however it would be a good start if the ES documentation is matching the current version of Facebook Developer site. This is currently not the case and is then quite confusing. If you provide documentation then best is that it is kept up to date!

Okay, followed all documentation and previous suggestions. However, it was again disapproved (see attached image - Facebook_not-approved.png). I think we are either missing something or we need to change something. This is the part which is currently missing in your docs.

When I try to do the request again I now receive this note: see attached - Facebook_info_publish-actions.png

Can you tell me which option we should select from this list: see attached - facebook-publish_actions-3.png

Would really appreciate your help with this. Also think that the working option would also help other users and yourself to update docs.

I think you should select "Publishes content to Facebook automatically" but really, I have no idea how to help you if Facebook keeps disapproving your request.

Perhaps you are submitting a lot of stories on Facebook that they start flagging your site as possible spams. I am not sure how their approval process works but we have quite a number of customers that have apps approved.

Mark, This is related to the blogger posting on their own Facebook page as well and forum post relates to the #200 error we get in EB5.

As per my last reply on this post:

Can you tell me which option we should select from this list: see attached - facebook-publish_actions-3.png

That one is not allowed!

I have tried the 'Other' option and added this:

"Website app for sharing the author's own blog post to their own Facebook page, option selected and actioned by themselves when they publish a new blog post on our site."

Perhaps that is what you can try but my best advise is to get in touch with Facebook's support. They know their approval process best.

;-) Have you ever tried getting in touch with Facebook support? It is not easy, well it is near to impossible.

There is nothing we can do here? All the app approval's are managed by them. If it was handled by us, it would have been approved immediately. I am going to lock this thread because this is getting no where. If facebook responds to your app request, please start a new thread.
