Hello,

I'd like to match category-specific 'Post' list settings so that they match the settings I have in place when viewing the 'Front-Page' list of blog entries, but am having trouble finding when to adjust them. For example, my front-page list does not include elements like:

- Ratings
- Sharing
- Hits
- Comments
- Post Type

See attached 'front-page' vs. 'category-specific'. Where would I find the category settings to hide the items in the above list?

Thanks in advance.
Hey Justin,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

You can disable those element from backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > category

Note : Make sure you have set `inherit` from each category post option configuration page , so system will refer on above layout > category settings.

Hope this help.

Hi Ezrul,

My apologies as I'm a little confused. I have my settings adjusted in the backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > category section (see attached screen shot), but when I view the category specific settings in Easyblog > categories > general (in my example), the 'Post' options adjust the view for the blog itself and not the category view (the 'General' category in this case).

As a follow up to my previous comment, my 'Blog' menu item that points to the blog Frontpage requires that I manually adjust 'Posts' (see attached).

For example, in my backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > category settings I have 'Show Post Hits' set to no. If I change the settings in my menu item to 'Inherit', the hits counter shows, even though it's set to 'No' in the global settings. I need to adjust it manually in the menu item instead. The hits counter also shows when viewing the 'General' category, even though it's set to 'No' in the global settings.

Hey Justin,

EasyBlog actually has 3 hierarchy of inheritance with the following hierarchy (with the ordering too)

1. Menu Settings (If an option is set to inherit here, it skips to the following settings)
2. Category Settings (If an option is set to inherit here, it skips to the following settings)
3. Global Settings (Final destination if all above are set to inherit)

Can you check if your Category settings for your post has hits disabled?

Hi Mark,

Within the Category 'General', I have 'Show Post Hits' disabled (see 'category-specific-post-setting.jpg') ... which works properly when viewing the blog's detailed view, but not when viewing the list of blog entries in the 'General' category (see 'general-category-view.jpg').

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

For the listing layout you can adjust the settings from your backend > easyblog > settings > layout > listings and all of the blog listing from your frontpage or category listing will follow this options. You can individualize the settings by creating a specific menu item for category and adjust the options from there.

Hi Ezrul,

I've updated various settings in the 'Listings' area to No, but it makes no difference (see attached images). I don't have menu items for any of the categories.

Thanks.

Hey Justin,

Can you try to edit your EasyBlog menu item, then click on the "Posts" tab and ensure that all of the settings are set to inherit from global settings?

Hi Mark,

I've updated the main Blog menu item to inherit global settings. It's working as it should (using the settings from Layout > Listings) when viewing the blog's front-page list of entries, but not when viewing a category specific list of entries.

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

Perhaps if you could provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access instead we can go through all the settings at your backend at once without having the need to go back on forth with the replies on forum. By the way may I know are you running on latest version of easyblog 5?

Please advise.

Hey Justin,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

We are still investigate on this, it seems like that was bug, it only trigger the option when you create the single category layout.

I will keep you update when we resolve this.
