It is because there are no image on your blog post and you have enable this settings on your site http://take.ms/vIkXY. Currently, you need to disabled that settings in order for it to nor shown for you.

Yes, I know I enabled that option and I like the behavior that it adds an image placeholder. What I am saying is, if the post type is Video, the cover image placeholder or not should not appear in the entry view. Why? Because it is a video post, the video should be on top and not the photo.

Or do you think I'm wrong?

Currently, it will appended those cover photos, as all types of items is still consider as blog post, and will appended a cover photos(as default) if there are no images in it.

Anyways, Adbul, I was just merely doing a constructive criticism (feedback) to your product and hoping that it will trigger an idea and you'll figure it out. I have conversations like this with Mark before but he never offered (I think ) me customization job. Which I don't intend to, just because I am not pushing for that feature, I am pointing out something to you guys to think about so you can improve your product and we both win at the end.

But for the sake of creative argument, when you see a post that is a video and click on it, what do you expect when you land on the page? It is not me who created a post type, you guys decided to add that as a feature, I was just merely using it and finding out it is a good feature but something is wrong, I see photo first and not video.

Thank you so much for the patch, is that something that you guys would add to the code base? If that's a fix only for what I am pointing out then it is not a fix so you know, that is not just something I want, the photo in video post is something that is obviously should not be there.

The file you attached is working great! You can preview it in my test site.

Hi there,

Those patch will not included into our systems and those patch only to hide those post cover for video post only. You can do template override for it, so that on next release version, it will not shown anymore.

If you said so, then post them on on Feature request sections. Thanks for your understanding.

i need - especially for videoposts - a possibility to hide the postcover in the entrylayout, but it should be displayed in the listinglayout, featured slider... (as introimage)
may you could integrate a button to display the postcover or not, like the buttons (slider) for
"display the post on home", " featured or not"...

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it is not possible to achieve this yet in Easyblog.

Perhaps it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues by creating a new ticket on the forums and set it to "Feature Request" so that everyone else could vote for it. We will prioritize this feature during the development process for the next major version of Easyblog if there are more people request on this.

Back to your issues, currently, you can do some hack on your to achieved this.

Can you try to upload attached files at this path template/your current template/html/com_easyblog/blogs/entry/default.php and see how it goes.

If problem still persisted, it would be best if you can create a new ticket for us further check on this issues. Please advice.
