Hi guys

Depending on what settings are chosen in eb when updating from 5 to 5.1 all css disappears both on the frontend and backend. By reinstating your new out of the box settings.json, css is reinstated. It took me a while to figure out that it was settings.json causing the issue, but I am not sure which setting or settings are causing the break. I fixed the issue by re-selecting from the new settings.json.

Also when nickel theme is chosen the selection of grid 1, 2, 3, 4 ect does not save and remains set on 2.
Hello Sam,

Hm, settings.json? I don't recall us using any settings.json. Can I know where is the path of this file that is on your end? As for the issue with Nickel settings, it seems like I am able to reproduce this locally. Have created a ticket for this.

By the way, you can fix the issue with nickel column settings by uploading the attached file into /administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/settings/views/fields/list.php

Hi Mark

settings.json is the name of the file that you can export fro eb that holds your settings. I will attach my settings.json fie if you import it into your test site via eb you will find that it breaks the css

Let me know how you go with it.

You might want to delete this file off the stream once you download it.

Hello Sam,

Ah okay! I see where the problem is. We have changed some settings on 5.1 and some of the older settings in 5.0 is no longer used anymore. Hence, if you try to import settings from 5.0 into 5.1, it will break.

Hello Sam,

When you upgrade EasyBlog, your settings would retain so you don't really need to import / export anything actually.

Could you provide me with the test site access that has problem so that I can see what actually went wrong? Are you running any customized theme on the site?

No customized themes. Unfortunately at the moment my server and websites are constantly under attack over 200 attempts a day. Not happy lol

They have been trying for weeks but so far so good so I have increased security and I am not comfortable turning security functions off at this point.

I will wait before updating the main sites.

Hello Sam,

Thanks for the kind compliments, greatly appreciated Ah, perhaps if you are ready, let me know because there is really no reasons for importing / exporting settings if you are performing an upgrade. Upgrading should be a breeze without needing to perform these interventions.

The import / export buttons are mainly used by users to transit / copy their existing settings to a new site.
