We had our blog post image size previously set (with help from SI team) to ES stream post width, similar to attached image.

Can you please assist us to get this look again as we like to have it consistent? Thanks...
Hey Andrew,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

If I recall correctly my colleague already help you hack for this in previously, you should take responsibility to backup those file.

By the way, can you try backup with your existing files and replace this 2 files in your server and see how it goes?
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\update.content.php
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\user\create.content.php
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\user\featured.content.php

Hi Arlex,

I think that the featured.content.php should be in "JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams" folder as it was not in "JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\user"

I was not sure if these files would still work as we upgraded from EB3.9 to EB5.

Just noticed that changing the files to the copies you sent through made it worse. See attached image:

Thanks.... Appreciate the help with this.

Please understand that support is not provided for customizations. You should add these customizations yourself in the file that I provided above.

Hi Andrew,

Yes, you may limit the height. You can use this:

max-height: 550px;

Hope this helps.

Hi, I just went through the original ticket to get the blog image on the stream to be larger see ticket #31396.

This is what Nik said at the time:
I've added new size for your image: 'easysocial' which you can see the size setting in Easyblog>Themes>Vintage>Blog Images, there you can set the height of the image, save it and click on the Clean Images button. So, you can use this $blog->getImage()->getSource('easysocial'); to get the image in Easysocial stream.

I also checked and we had all files still sitting in our overrides. However, I can not find the above settings in the new EB5. This is why it was not not working anymore.

We originally had all images and video display in the stream at full width and max 320px height (can be 550px). We like this so that it is consistent and a Facebook kind of look and feel....

Would really appreciate your help on this.

Hey Andrew,

I have applied some hack in this file -> JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\user\create.content.php
JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\user\blog\themes\default\streams\update.content.php

Can you give it a check and see how it goes?

Thanks Arlex. That looks better, but images are stretched. Could we use 'zooming' instead, so that the image is not distorted?

Can these changes be added to overrides?

Hey Andrew,

You're welcome,

Yes, you can backup these files before you update in the future.

By the way, unfortunately that was not possible to make it display nicely without get stretched if you would like to add limit for the height.

We had it before on EB3.9 configured to show an image which was not stretched by the help from Nik.

Nik's comment before on 3.9:
I've added new size for your image: 'easysocial' which you can see the size setting in Easyblog>Themes>Vintage>Blog Images, there you can set the height of the image, save it and click on the Clean Images button. So, you can use this $blog->getImage()->getSource('easysocial'); to get the image in Easysocial stream.

It looks really bad if it is stretched, see attached...

It was an adjustment in the EB3.9 Themes image settings...

Is there a way that we can get this to display better?

I am really sorry Andrew, I have clearly state that support will not be provided for any customizations at all. You should revert the changes that Arlex provided earlier.

Mark, sorry but you definitely have this wrong: "I don't mean to be disrespectful but you have been scrutinizing us even if we assist you for something that is way beyond our support policy." Where have I been scrutinizing you?

How many of my tickets were actual 'bug fixes' or led to improvements to your products... Taking that into consideration I think I am assisting you guys at the same time by providing you feedback always. Yes, I am more vocal and more involved but that is due to the fact that we like using your products. 180 tickets which includes EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss, Komento and of course the still quite new EasySocial is not that much when you think about it.

I can always ask and if you guys can, and have the time - your team are always very helpful! and this is why we like Stack Ideas and your products.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but you have been scrutinizing us even if we assist you for something that is way beyond our support policy. I don't see how we can further assist you with this. You wanted something different than anyone else, we provided ideas / feedbacks and even provided you with a custom file and you keep asking for more.

Just look at our ticketing system, you have created over 180 tickets in a span of 1 year. Does this sound fair to you?
