Hi Si Team

I understand that I need the default theme to be switched on to get EB to work optimally. ;-) I now have the default template activated but still have some minor formatting issues.

The images end up being different sizes on the BLOG.
I am trying to have all my images @ 600 x 375

The problem lies with the Blog Image!!!
For the Blog Image I go here:
EB Themes/default and try editing the image size to be displayed.
See first screen Shot!
600 x 375 is the value that I am trying to get to work for me.
But changing the numbers for the theme images does not seem t make much of a difference!

Site throws images which are 810 x 310

I believe that pretty much every thing on the site has had a width of 600 for several years now!

Am I missing something?

thanks

Paul
Hi Justin

Yeah I know that it sounds lame. I downloaded it by mistake. Do you have a link for me?
"With the renewal price of $10, you can get the benefit of EasySocial Pro"
Most of my licenses are pretty up to date and run for about a year...

best

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the late reply.
Actually, the width of the images in blog is hard coded by the Wanderers and currently there is no setting for this. Can you try put this code in here: \templates\wanderers\html\com_easyblog\image.ini and see if this resolved the issue.

Please do update us back.

Hi Mohd

As far as i can tell that information is already there!?!
When I navigate here:
\templates\wanderers\html\com_easyblog\image.ini
I find the following file: image.ini
Inside the file are the following lines of code:

[{
"name": "small",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "featured",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "frontpage",
"width": "800",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "module",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "entry",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "slider",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "wanderes",
"width": "810",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}]

If I am not mistaken that is what you just sent me!

image.ini

i.e:

[{
"name": "small",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "featured",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "frontpage",
"width": "800",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "module",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "entry",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "slider",
"width": "730",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}, {
"name": "wanderes",
"width": "600",
"height": "375",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}]

I am also noticing that their is a folder:
com_easyblog_bak2
I did not make this one.
Maybe you did?

thanks

Hello Paul,

Yes. I do create that temporary file in your site. I am sorry for not tell you earlier. You can delete this com_easyblog_bak2 file. By the way, Wanderers is using this file for the blog image configuration. As you can see in this file, I have change this

}, {
"name": "wanderes",
"width": "810",
"height": "310",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}]

to

}, {
"name": "wanderes",
"width": "600",
"height": "375",
"resize": "fill",
"visible": ""
}]

Hope this will help.
Thanks.

hi Mohd

No worries. It is great that you created that folder. I tried what you suggested and it did not seem to help. I can edit videos better than I can edit code!?! You should probably know that I am discussing how I can upgrade to this template here:
http://stackideas.com/forums/wanderers-default-template-roll-over-click
I do not want to get you into any trouble but as of writing I am in a grey zone...

Hello Paul,

Sorry but I am just following up with this thread here. Would you mind letting me know what are the outstanding issues now?

Hi Mark

They are always the same 3 issues

a) This thread that you are reading now: Images coming from the body of the Blog and the Blog Header Image module are different sizes. I have no way to adjust the Blog Header Image as I would normally do in ES as the preferences in ES do not work as of now! All of my last several 100 images are 600px wide... I could go in and create them all again if I had to but this would be a night mare...

Issues b) is posted here:

http://stackideas.com/forums/wanderers-default-template-roll-over-click

It is the Cow image that shows up when you mouse over the video preview images. This works on the individual Blog posts but not on the Front page layout.

Once I get the images lined up then a third issue will arise which means the text will have to be aligned with the images! That will be issue 3 and then with luck I will have the Template nightmare behind me…

that is about it

best

Hi SI team

It would be great if we could make some progress here on this issue :-) It is kind of important that I can adjust the width and height of the images displayed on the Blog. With out being able to do this the formatting just does not work period. Nothing lines up with nothing! As of now even if I went and readjusted all my images per hand too a width of 810, I think that I would have a problem with losing the top and bottom of my image on the front page layout...

Please see the screen shot for what Wanders will do to my images. My images have a video ratio of 16:9 and I suspect that I am not the only one posting video stuff

thanks

Hello Paul,

As mentioned by my colleague earlier, because of the overriden template in Wanderers, the blog image size is fixed and it cannot be configured from the back end. In short, can you please just let us know what is the width and height of the blog image that you want?

Again, please remember that Wanderers is provided for FREE without any charges at all.

Hello Paul,

Here is the fix.
As I said earlier, Wanderers is using this image.ini for the blog image configuration. So you need to change the image size from this file. Next, put this css override code in this file: \templates\wanderers\css\theme.css
#ezblog-posts .blog-image {
border: 0;
border-bottom-color: 0;
background: transparent;
}
#ezblog-posts .blog-image img {
padding:5px;
border: 1px solid #d7d7d7;
}
.blog-image img {
display: block;
margin:0 auto;
}

After that, go to your EasyBlog > Setting > Theme > Blog Image > Clean Image. Please give this a try and see if this resolved your issue.
Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hi Mohd

To the best of my knoledge I have done every thing as instructed.
Put your modified image.ini file here:
here: \templates\wanderers\html\com_easyblog\image.ini
Edited this here:
\templates\wanderers\css\theme.css
and do the image clean cache thing

Also have the EB image setting set up as shown in the screen shot.

Please advise

thanks

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I have helped you configure this and now it should be working correctly. Here my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/M0TxzW6I47A4 . If you want to test this, you can change the size of the blog image in image.ini, after that, go to your EasyBlog > Setting > Theme > Blog Image > Clean Image. Please give this a try and see if this resolved your issue.

Please be advise.
Thanks.
