I am using some of your nifty grid layouts with a built in showcase and love the layouts.

However, :-) I just started trying to use a component that displays Amazon Shopping Items within a cart of our own to help people to buy products we recommend on Amazon. What I discovered is that your EasyBlog grid layouts do take an image from the Amazon display (this comes from Amazon) automatically but instead of the picture of the item being displayed it is displaying an iframe that they include with relevant product information.

What I was hoping is that it would grab the image of the book cover instead. I am thinking to use this tool for creating the books we recommend but would have to stop using the Grid Layouts with the Showcase unless this can be switched so that your system grabs the item image instead of the item information iframe.

The URL where you can see the same image that I have attached is at
https://www.drcarney.com/help/information/books-of-interest
It is the first of two images rotating through the showcase.

The EasyBlog page that is being displayed in the showcase is at
https://www.drcarney.com/blog/entry/the-engine-2-seven-day-rescue-diet

The software I am trying to use is located here:

Hey Sean,

I've checked further on your site, it seems like that is not possible to solve this to display properly content on the Grid layout and the rest of the module.

Because it only store those Amazon shortcode into database, it actually rely on this 3rd party plugin 'Content AmazonWS' to render correctly for that Amazon content output on the page when it detected on the page got these kind of Amazon shortcode, you can refer on my screenshot here : http://take.ms/v9Mb1

In other word, Easyblog truncation part is based on the post content what it stored into database, mean it is not possible to rely on Easyblog system to retrieve first image from this Amazon shortcode.

The reason why it can populate the image on this Grid layout is because the total character of this post content (https://www.drcarney.com/help/information/books-of-interest) is less than 360 what you set that truncation limit from that Grid menu item http://take.ms/FKBWL , so this 3rd party plugin 'Content AmazonWS' can able to replace this shortcode to the proper content if those Amazon Shortcode not get stripped it.

Regarding with your module "Resources & Results", the reason why it doesn't show same content as what you saw it from Grid layout is because this module "Resources & Results" truncation limit set to 140 (http://take.ms/wKCW0) which mean that those Amazon Shortcode already get stripped it, this 3rd party plugin 'Content AmazonWS' unable to replace to proper content.

By the way, what my suggestion is if you would like to render those Amazon blog post, you have to put some of the content and insert one of the readmore block before the Amazon Shortcode, so those slider/module/grid layout will not show messy content.

{amazonWS:itemId=1455591173}

And guide us how to configure it to display this exactly on your site? So i can try try replicate this into my locally.

Arlex,

I will send you the software as soon as I hear from the developer who I suspect will be very glad to have you take a look. I am grateful that you are willing to look.

I also found a second place on my site where the images do not display and figure it is caused for the same reasons. So, if you are able to make the images display in the showcase I suspect you can correct this problem in the same way. The images from Amazon also do not display in the "EasyBlog - Showcase Module".

I have one on the home page titled "Resources & Results" and there is a new item I added with the title of "The Engine 2 Seven-Day Rescue Diet" that also does not display it's image. https://www.drcarney.com

It would be so cool if you had a way to make these images display so I could continue using EasyBlog for this funtion on my site. :-)

I will get back with you, hopefully today about this.

Thank you very much Arlex,

I think what I am going to do in this case just for this one section of my site is create the Amazon Shopping Cart experience only with Joomla content so that EasyBlog won't try to display it. I so far only use EasyBlog and that would be my preference but it does not appear that we are going to be able to make these display the images in EasyBlog so the easiest thing for me is to just go with the flow and keep it separate from EasyBlog.

Thank you for looking into this deeper and letting me know.
