Hi there,

I have a quick question. I am about to use EB on an ES existing site. There are several points that I am not sure regarding integration between the two Stackideas products.

1) Non of the stream notification appear on the user's stream even though it is marked to do so?
Easyblog / Settings / Integration / Easysocial (under 'stream' or 'Notification', Everything is marked as I marked YES)

2) I am confused to which comment system should I use?
EB has its own commenting system. As my site is based on ES, I was happy to see that I could integrate the comments with EasySocial (Easyblog / Settings / Comments / Integration ('Easysocial Comments' checked to YES). I guess this question is very much tied to the first question. Do Stackideas allow new blog post, comments, ratings, etc. to appear on a user's stream (news feed) if they use the Easysocial commenting system?

Thanks in advance!
Hello David,

Please find the answers below:
1) Non of the stream notification appear on the user's stream even though it is marked to do so?
Have you installed the Blog app for Easysocial which you can find it here: http://stackideas.com/apps . You should be able to see the stream post by Easyblog once this app has installed.

2) I am confused to which comment system should I use?
We are sorry, currently, to integrate the comment with Easysocial Stream, you have to use Easyblog comment system and turn on the New Comment under Easyblog / Settings / Integration / Easysocial settings.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your response.

1) I will try installing the Blog app as I am on my iPad at the moment.

2) just to be clear, you are saying that if i use the native EasyBlog commenting system, that everything will work as it should. Meaning, that new blog posts will appear on a user stream if marked 'yes', new comments will appear on a user's stream if marked 'yes', new rating will appear on a user stream and so forth?

I am just a bit confused as to why it won't work if I enable the option to integrate the comments with EasySocial? My concern on only from a visual stand. It basically means that there will be 2 'looks' for commenting. One when you are on the Es area and another when on the EB?

My problem is that I kind of have to decide now as if you decided one day to simply allow EasySocial comments system to genuinely work with EasyBlog, I won't be able to switch back as I will be left stuck with the EasyBlog commenting system. If I will switch then, I will loose all the comments as they are two different comments systems on not skins.

I am very confused why it is that you are doing such great work and so excited when other components integrate with EasySocial, but for some reason, you are not integrating fully with your 2 main components yourselves. I just fail to see the logic in that.

Can you please clarify?

Thanks!

Hello David,

What I mean is only for commenting system. Currently, if you integrating Easysocial comment in Backend>Easyblog>Settings>Comments>Integration, the comment you have posted will not be posted in ES stream. As for now, you can use Easyblog comment system so it will posted on ES stream whenever you made a comment.

All those other integrations (blog post, feature post, rating notification, etc.) will work regardless which comment system you are using. Hope this clear things up.
