Hi,

I created my first blog post on the new version. The blog was successfully posted to the site but when I browsed in the front end it said 'Password Protected' when there was no password protection set at all? It automatically assigned it.

BTW, There seems to be no longer any option in EB composer (back end) to set the password?

Please check ASAP.

Regards,
Imran
Hello Imran,

It seems like you have customized something in the composer theme files and to be honest, I am not too sure what was modified. Upon replacing the files in /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/composer/ the permalink works fine now.

When you enable password protection in EasyBlog, it generates a field that allow users to enter password when composing their blog post. However, most web browser these days tries to be too intelligent by auto filling up these fields. Hence, without you knowing, the browser is already auto populating the password field.

Password protection can be disabled under Settings > Editor as you can see here, http://take.ms/6J2Pq . Having said that, I am trying to find an alternative for this or probably just keep it a standard text field so browsers doesn't go and auto complete the field.

Hi Mark,

Usually, we have the Password field in the composer but for the blog in question (that was composed from the backend) we don't have it (or not visible) even if I try to edit the post now and remove the password?

NOTE: The Permalink do not get auto filled anymore?

Imran

If you edited the post and removed the password, then it will no longer be password protected. The permalink does get auto filled.

No, the password field is not being displayed at all? Have you checked it by editing the blog from the Joomla Backend?

No, the Permalink aren't getting auto filled. They used to with the previous version when we used to enter the Blog Title but not anymore? I just tried a brand new blog entry but, no, they aren't getting auto filled in the Permalink field.

Imran

Try now? I have turned off the password protection completely from the settings -> Editor -> Password protection

The blog Title -> The Big Bang

NOTE: Actually, the password protection field is not visible on any of the existing & new blog entries from the Joomla Backend (even when the Password protection is on)? But can confirm the field is visible on smartphone / small screens.

Imran

Okay, it seems like if the post is featured, you will not be able to set a password. Perhaps when you created the post, it already contains a password. Will add a fix for this internally.

Thanks!

Also the Permalink issue need to be fixed? I tried creating a new blog and gave it a title but it did not auto-filled the Permalink field until the moment I clicked on 'Publish' button then it created a Permalink with already stored Google Chrome auto form fill data instead. The Permalink, I can confirm, working fine on smartphones or small screens.

Imran
