Hello from France!

I don't know how to:

1. change the category of an already published Page

2. a page inherits of its avatar's category : I set the avatar at the category level once for all, and all the Pages from this category will display this same avatar

3. hide the avatar of a Page ... even if I do not upload an avatar image in the backend, I have a grey square in the frontend

4. change the published date ... i will create pages from old content (= already published in my previous website) but I would like to keep a trace of the original publication date. The workaround is to add a custom field 'original date of publication' but I would prefer to change directly the displayed publication date.

5. pages seems totally isolated in EasySocial : how can I 'link' a page - or better a category of page - to a specific Group ?
Workaround will be again to create a custom field 'link to the relevant page' ?
Hello Henri,

Please find my response to your inquiries below:

1. change the category of an already published Page

This can only be done from the back end. Go to the Pages section at the back end of EasySocial, select your page and hit the switch category button, http://take.ms/bQFbp

2. a page inherits of its avatar's category : I set the avatar at the category level once for all, and all the Pages from this category will display this same avatar

It does not work this way. The category avatar is not the same as the pages avatar.

3. hide the avatar of a Page ... even if I do not upload an avatar image in the backend, I have a grey square in the frontend

It is not possible to disable the avatar of a page and to be honest, I don't think it makes sense to hide it since it is like the business logo. However, you could always customize the theme file in /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/pages/item/default.php to remove the logo.

4. change the published date ... i will create pages from old content (= already published in my previous website) but I would like to keep a trace of the original publication date. The workaround is to add a custom field 'original date of publication' but I would prefer to change directly the displayed publication date.

Unfortunately right now it's not possible to alter this.

5. pages seems totally isolated in EasySocial : how can I 'link' a page - or better a category of page - to a specific Group ?
Workaround will be again to create a custom field 'link to the relevant page' ?

I am not too sure if I understand you here. You can create a menu item that links to a specific page if that is what you mean?

Thanks Mark, very useful

My comments :

1. ok, great

2. I think it should work like that ... but ok

3. thanks for the workaround with the theme file update ... I need to think more

4. ok

5. that is the heart of my website : every activities turn around marathon and I need a seamless navigation between ES/ED/EB

Tyically,
- from the home page, a member search for 'london' and go to the Group 'London Marathon', see information about the related Event (date of the London Marathon, etc.), discuss into the group ..
- but he would like also to read 'London marathon stories' written by other members who ran the London Marthon few years ago

So,
- I need a 'link' from the London Group (ES category) to the London Stories (EB category)
- and vice-versa

Is it clear enough for you?
