Hi,
In EasySocial edit user profile, there is a "Profile Permalink" field. I am wondering how does this work? E.g., suppose this field has the value "username1", then what would be the effective URL to access the user profile?

I've tried http://www.website.com/username1/ , http://www.website.com/community/username1/ ...both of these did not work. Could you tell me the right URL? Or, are there additional configurations to do to enable this functionality?

Those URL is like this http://www.website.com/community/821-abc as it required to included that particular users id in the url. If you wanted to remove those users id, you can use this plugin https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3338-url-shortener

Hi there,

There are setting for users permalinks currently as you can see here http://take.ms/RHp9R. By the way, i believe it is error because you need to included user's id on your permalink.

Yes I understand. Suppose the username = userid = "abc". Then my question is what would be the permalink URL look like? Is it http://www.website.com/abc/ ? Or, http://www.website.com/community/abc/ ? Or something else? I've tried the two examples above but it does not work, I want to confirm whether they are supposed to work and there is an error somewhere else, or did I simply use the incorrect URL?

Ah I see, sorry I misunderstood it. Thanks, got it. I also just figured out that the folder label /community/ is set by the ES menu item name, and if the user set a custom permalink on the profile, it will work automatically. I think this could work for me for now. Thank you again!
