You can't really do that currently but you can edit the theme file /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/toolbar/default.php and modify the data-placement="top" to data-placement="bottom"

I was trying to accomplish the same thing, since my toolbar is at the top of my page. I tried the above modification, but it did not work for the toolbar module.

It's in in ..\components\com_easysocial\themes\wireframe\toolbar\default.login.php

it does work, what Mark forgot to mention is that you have to do it also in
default.conversations.php
default.friends.php
default.notifications.php

PS: I don't use the toolbar for login, in that case you might also need to change it in default.login.php

Well, I needed for whole menu, even when you are logged in, which is the reason I needed to do it in the files I mentioned

Basically you need to modify all of the files in /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/toolbar/

You will need to copy the files that you want to modify into /templates/JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_easysocial/toolbar/
