Is there any way to migrate from EasySocial to Easysocial?

I know it sounds funny, but we have a large website that started out 13 years ago on Community Builder, migrated to JomSocial and then the EasySocial about 5 years ago. We accumulated lots of rubbish along the way, so i'm looking for an easy way to start fresh but retain all of the existing users, images, videos and the like, while leaving all the unused stuff behind.
lol the same i wanted to do, when joomla 4 is released and when we move from our current hoster into azure.

Hey guys,

We do not have such tools if you are looking at selective importing but what I would strongly recommend is to remove unwanted stuffs rather than going through backups / restore as that would complicate a lot of things (because of these incremental ids)

Use akeeba backup

Um.....Akeeba backup doesn't work well on a website in excess of 60GB.
But either way, the problem isn't migrating to a new location.
Its that I want to remove unused old stuff so I don't have to carry it forever, but I have no way of identifying what that is.

For example, when we imported from Jomsocial to Easysocial, we imported more than 30 000 pictures.
So we have images in the media directory and the images directory.
How do we know if these images have been copied to a new directory and are now redundent (can be removed) , or if they are still linked to an EasySocial profile?

I was hoping for some tool which would extract only the stuff relevant to EasySocial, so we could then remove the rest.
eg ES only store images in ABC directory, so I can delete any images not in that directory.

Hey Marc,

For example, when we imported from Jomsocial to Easysocial, we imported more than 30 000 pictures.
So we have images in the media directory and the images directory.
How do we know if these images have been copied to a new directory and are now redundent (can be removed) , or if they are still linked to an EasySocial profile?

If you referring this, our Jomsocial migrator will migrate all the Jomsocial image file to the Easysocial storage path which is :
- /media/com_easysocial/photos
- /media/com_easysocial/avatars

In other word, all those migrated image will referring to Easysocial instead of Jomsocial /images/xxx directory folder.

To be safe, you can try on your development site then temporary rename Jomsocial image storage folder and see whether those image still can able to showing on the page or not.

By the way, we do not have such of tools extract only stuff relevant with Easysocial.
