You do not manage post types. Post types are basically the post types that was used to post to the activity stream

You don't assign a post type. You do it when you are posting to the activity stream when you choose "text", "photo", video etc.

I thought we could add our own post types like
Updates, Reviews, News ...
This would avoid a lot of sub category'ing of groups for instances
I have a group call Fortnite. I would like to share/posts all sorts of content types in there an allow front-end views of the group to filter that by these types. Essentially, like yoi already offer but with custom post types.
Any change we can see that happen ?

To be honest, I don't really see this as an ideal feature because what you are seeking for is more of a filter type and you could already achieve this by using hashtags.

What you are proposing is to just enforce a set of hashtags to be used on the site and do not allow users to add / insert a new hashtag.

In that case, can we then add a front-end hashtag filtering option for the Stream module ?
