May i know how do you perform this update from your site backend?

Can you try download the latest launcher installer from https://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload this installer through your Joomla backend installer page and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, can you assign this 'stackideas' to have superadmin privileges so we can better have a check? Because I was unable to upload any installer through your backend, you can check my attached screenshot below.

By the way, may i know this community.xxx domain site is it your development site?

I managed to find what the issue was. For some reason the users.php file in /administrator/components/com_easysocial had the wrong permissions, setting it to 0644 allowed the installer to finish and update.

community is a subdomain that we use for EasySocial.
