Hi There,

Our ES is set to Lock Down Mode and redirect after login is set to Dashboard. We're just testing one Group right now and the group has lots of Events and I use the Event Module to list all the events. The module is visible in a public webpage of that Group, the issue is when anyone click on the event title, they will be taken to Login ES page (since it's in lockdown mode). After logging in, the user is redirected to the dashboard.

  • Will it be possible to redirect users to the event that they clicked?
  • In the case of Closed Group, it will give user an error message asking to Join the Group.

Thanks,

Jackson
Hello Jackson,

I am sorry but unfortunately it is not possible to redirect the user to the event page when you are on lockdown mode. There are just too many possibilities on which page the user was on in lock down mode.

As for the error message, I am not really sure if I understand you here. Do you mean you want to display an error message or you received an error message when joining a closed group?

Hi Mark,

I was just setting event page as an example but the thought is the same. If I'm not mistaken they have added this in J3.4.x, at least I am seeing this in the backend when my session times out and I was in one of the component views. Refreshing that page would take me to login but after logging in it will take me directly to the view where I left off. I hope that is possible with ES as well, same concept right?

For the error message, I was just suggesting what will happen when a user who login is not a member of the Group that is a closed group if ever a proper redirection is incorporated to ES.

Thanks,

Jackson
