Support,

I just purchased the Charm template V1.0.2 and installed it on a new site. I would like to customize the ES Login Screen for my site.

COLORS
I'm able to customize the template colors in the Presets section of the template, but these new colors are not reflected in the ES Login Buttons on the site. see attached picture

PICTURE
How do you customize the image above the Login section? Don't see this in the ES or CHARM configuration.

TEXT
There is text above the "Register For An Account Today" button. It now says "CHARM, Meet your life partner, Join our community. Say something this is your site description." Where can this be customized. This site is not a dating site.

ALSO GO TO TOP FEATURE,
When I enable the GO TO TOP, feature in BASIC SETTINGS -> FOOTER, nothing is added to the template footer. Doesn't look like it is working.

Thanks for the help.

Support,

Thanks for your response. I'm able to change the text and will add a new cover image.

I've added the SFTP details to my original post, so you should be able to access the site.

ALSO, ALSO,
When doing the template configuration, when I enter SAVE in the color Presets section, often the changes are not reflected in the template, but when I make other changes to the template the color changes are then Updated.

Example:
> In the Presets section, select MENU and change the color of the Active Text Color or Hover Text Color. Should change the color of the menu item that has been selected. When you hit SAVE it does a quick wait and then returns. Active Text Color is not changed in template.

Give it a try.

Raymond.

I validated the access user name and password for admin access and they work just fine, but then looked at what I posted and I gave you the wrong password. I updated the original post with the correct password. Sorry for the confusion.

Support,

TOP OF PAGE
The Top of Page Icon is working. I expected to be shown, but because the content was not extending beyond the bottom of the page the icon was not shown. After I added more content the Icon showed up. SO WORKING AS EXPECTED.

ADDITIONAL PROBLEM OR QUESTION,
I want to remove the Page Title from the content. I.E. The word "HOME" is always at the top of the home page.
I have disabled all the Joomla Title configuration to HIDE.
I have set the Mega Menu -> Show Menu Title to FALSE, but that removes it from the top menu bar, not from the page contents.
I then noticed that in the Charm Configuration -> Layout Builder there is a section called Page Title. I made a copy of the template and tried to remove the Page Title Section, but that didn't remove the "HOME" word from the top of the page. I'm out of ideas.

Question, how can I remove the word "HOME" from by page content?

PROBLEM,
However, when I did a SAVE AS COPY Charm-Default -> Charm-Splash, I expected that all the configuration information that I had defined in the Charm-Default template would transfer to Charm-Splash, but nothing transferred, all the settings went back to the default configuration. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I would need to be able to transfer my configuration to another Charm Template definition in the future. I expect you will be able to easily reproduce.

If you want a custom page title, you can configure this in the menu, http://take.ms/rwkVl . This is the standard behavior of Joomla.

Hm, you are right, it looks like because Helix isn't generating the settings on the template form (It's settings are rendered by Helix itself), clicking on "Save as Copy" doesn't seem to be duplicating the settings. We'll log this into our internal ticket system.

Thanks Mark,

Don't know why I didn't look under the standard Joomla Menu configuration first. Thinking to much about the new template.

Thanks posting a Bug Report on the SAVE as COPY. This is a very important features as I want to define a standard and then create small changes for different parts of the site.

AS AN EXAMPLE,

On the SPLASH PAGE I want to modify the CSS to eliminate the Border After each paragraph, so I want to change the margin-bottom: from 1rem, to 0rem; but on other parts of the site I would like the margin-bottom to remain. Wouldn't I need to make a specific version of the template for the splash page with modified CSS?
p {
margin-top: 0;
margin-bottom: 0rem;
}

ONLY OPEN ISSUE.
The only issue remaining on the post is the COLOR issue that was identified. The colors of the Logon buttons were not changed to reflect the header color and stayed purple.

ALL BUTTONS
When you log into EasySocial, all of the button in the community are still Purple. So the issue is a little brouder then I initially identified. e.g. ADD GROUP button, Friends ADD LIST button, Video NEW VIDEO button, Audio NEW AUDIO button and NEW PLAYLIST button, etc....

Noted, thanks for your input on this Daniel. It seems like we already have a ticket logged internally and we will be releasing a new update that addresses the save as copy issue.

Mark,

Thank you for your response.

QUESTION:
Are both issues identified in this post open technical issues on the Charm Template?

1> SAVE as COPY, does not save current template configuration details

2> EasySocial buttons color are not updated to reflect the changes in the template.

Can you give me some time frame when these issues will be resolved or a way to track their status?

Looking forward to your response.

The issue related to save and copy is related to charm template and it would be addressed in the next update of Charm. It's most likely that we push an update for charm sometime next week.

As for the button colors, I am not sure if I understand you here. Do you mean you also want the button colors in EasySocial to inherit them?

Support,

Your Question: As for the button colors, I am not sure if I understand you here. Do you mean you also want the button colors in EasySocial to inherit them?

ANSWER is YES. I want to be able to set the color of the buttons to match the color theme of the site....

Creating a site Theme and then all the buttons from Stack Idea extensions showing up in PURPLE, looks strange. That is why I purchased the template from Stack Ideas so there would be site consistency.

Is there a workaround?
All the EasySocial sections of the web site are include in Script, so I don't think I can use a CSS override to set the button colors, but correct me if there is a way to change the colors to match the site?

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to your response.

Hey Dan,

If you want to change button colors in EasySocial only, perhaps you can checkout the layout section(http://take.ms/werSQ)?

If this does not work, then the only way is to use css overrides so that you can target specific buttons/extensions. You should not have to worry about EasySocial scripts, the purpose of overrides is to override the original styling.

Raymond,

Thanks for pointing me at that EasySocial Configuration. I've used this before. This configuration works to set the button color on my other sites that do not use the CHARM template. Works GREAT. Just as your noted.

UNFORTUNATELY when using the CHARM template changing these button colors does nothing to change the button colors within EasySocial. See Attached Images. I have the button color set to be exactly the same as the site header #4484ce, but the button color is the default Template PURPLE.

I think you need to list this as a BUG in the CHARM Template. Please Confirm that you can reproduce and this is an issue.....

Hey Daniel,

I have consulted the template designer and it is not a bug as the EasySocial layout settings is not supposed to work when you are using charm template.

The colors have to be adjusted from the template itself. For example, if you want to change the button's background color(for EasySocial only), you have to use the following custom css.

body #es .btn-es-primary {
background-color: #6a6a9d !important;
border-color: #5c5c8c !important;
}

I personally think this is a bug, I purchased a template to make modifications simple, so buttons pop primary etc should all be configurable within the template.

Hey Richard,

Are you referring to EasySocial's color settings from the layout section?

The color preset in the Charm template is supposed provide ease to the site admin to change some of the main colors on the site. If it does not override EasySocial's layout settings, then the template would not have serve its purpose.
