EasySocial install update manually

The update button dont work in my EasySocial backend, I think it is because in my php.ini the upload limit is set to 2MB. I dont want to change this only for these updates. Can I download the new version and upload it via FTP to the tmp directory and install the new version over the old version without losing my settings etc.?

What you should do is to download the "Launcher" version which is below 2mb. Then, upload the launcher version via the Extensions Manager to proceed with the update.
