The only way to do this is unpublished the event, so this event will not appear on the site.

Oh ... I would strongly suggest we add this as a function somehow.
Also, unpublishing an event is limited to the backend functionalities. As a page administrator (using exclusively the frontend), we would not be able to unpublish events.
