Hello,

How can we update the file attachment types for uploading a file to groups?

I have no problem adding a file to a comment or conversation, but I can't add those same files (jpg, png, pdf etc.) to a group as a file in the initial group post. Screen shot attached.

May I know what files are you trying to upload and where are you trying to upload to?

Hi Mark,

I was trying to upload a .png (attached) to this group: https://www.bsmartguide.com/connect/groups/228-bsmart-online-mentors.html

by clicking 'File'

It says file type not allowed. I don't see in the back-end where I can update file types for group file uploads to be:
txt,jpg,png,gif,zip,pdf,jpeg,doc,docx,xls,xlsx,ppt

Hey Meagan,

Ah I see! I get what you mean here. To set the allowed extensions, it can be configured in the files app for groups:

1. http://take.ms/UFtFD

2. http://take.ms/ydCaR

I have already configured this for you by adding png into the extension list and was also able to successfully upload a png file.

By the way, just out of curiosity, if you want to upload a picture, why don't you use the "Photos" eh?
