STAR item as FAVORITE on STREAM - REMOVE item as FAVORITE on STREAM

Future Feature for EasySocial Stream

One of the things I find with the current Stream items is there is no quick way to Select any item on the Stream to bookmark and item or as a Star Item as Favorite for later viewing, reading and commenting.

STAR ICON:

EXAMPLE in STREAM

This new feature would make the Stream much more interesting so people can STAR an ITEM as FAVORITE and then be able to Filter them using the Favorite Filter for later viewing and reading of only those items that were selected and set on the Stream as Star item as Favorite.

Screencast of Star item as Favorite or Remove item as Favorite : http://screencast.com/t/nLVbgnoDl9

Stream showing Favorite Filter on Left Sidebar and the Remove item as Favorite after it has been Starred as a Favorite.

Your suggestions, ideas, improvements, welcome below. This is a feature that most all users will find very useful in the sites.

I have added this to the StackIdeas VOICES as a NEW FEATURE CONSIDERATION

Star item as Favorite (bookmark) an item on the Stream for later viewing, commenting

Maybe to make it real easy to Favorite an Item on the Stream, if you have the cursor in the Stream Item a black Star appears, and if you click it to SELECT the item as a STAR item as FAVORITE, the Star will turn Gold. That way you don't have to use the drop down menu to quickly Star an item as a Favorite to view later. The more simplified the USER INTERFACE the better.

To remove it, you use the REMOVE item as Favorite from the dropdown EDIT menu.

Hm, what does bookmarking a stream actually does? So that you have a new filter on the left to view your bookmarked stream items?

Yes,

Think of a busy sight, with lots of items being added to the Stream, and you need time to read one, two or a few of the stream items, so you Star them as Favorites, or you Bookmark them for later viewing. They can be brought back by the Star or Bookmark on the left sidebar.

There are a few things to consider though.

1. The List for Starred or bookmarked items can get long.

Maybe a Preference for only keeping Starred or Bookmarked items for a specific period of time?
