Hi,

As a user, I would greatly appreciate the ability to sell my products online via our community PAGESThis request has been ongoing for a while now through a variety of threads here. I am just formalizing the feature request.

So, just like the "other" social media, ES could truly benefit in offering a shopping capability

Product/Service catalog & categories
Cart flow
Taxes
Shipping
Payment gateways
...

We use the "other" network this way. We also bind it to external E-commerce plateforms like Shopify and Ecwid (https://www.ecwid.com/blog/ecwid-introduces-facebook-shop-and-product-catalog.html)

Hope to see this come to life soon :-)

And for starting, a classified or market place feature.
Maybe an association with the actual advertisement tool.

To build a complete Joomla shop or classified system is a huge undertake.

It would be better quicker to have a smart stable integration with existing Joomla carts and systems like Sellacious, VirtueMart, HikaShop and others and via plg get streams, profiling etc into these extensions and ecommerce into EasySocial. Even Stackideas could fork VirtueMart thats a huge undertake to support this long term and adapt to ES customisations in future. Thats my thoughts and guesses.

You can check with Abhishek Agrawal Sellacious to work with ES that is a very powerful Joomla multicart solution https://www.sellacious.com/

Hi "SSnoben"

I absolutely agree with you about this being a huge undertaking

At some point, it's for StackIdeas's team to decide if this is "worth it"? Does e-commerce in ES make the product more viable for its customers, will it sell more for SI? From my point of view; yes. FB and Google are offering marketplaces which in itself says a lot.
Almost every community project I have requires it (among other things).

Now, for a third party to do this is even more of a risk since the underlying foundation is not theirs. The third-party that would develop an app for this needs to be in bed with the Stackideas team to make sure its APP is sustainable.

Where I also think you are right is for a third-party with an independent e-commerce market place to offer an ES integration bridge (now we're talking). However, Joomla is really failing at e-commerce in comparison to Wordpress with WooCommerce... I've worked with Virtumart, Hikashop and countless others and after years of getting poor results from these, I've finally found one that works well for me; Ecwid and it's Sell Anywhere embed technology. Ecwid bridges great with FB and a few other social media platforms but these social media already offer a shop concept in which Ecwid can bridge.

If ES would simply allow page administrators to add custom menus/articles into its interface (like it does for its own EB articles) then we could seriously be in business and that would unlock SO MUCH potential to ES (limitless actually). Image a world where a page admin can add a menu bound to an article in which he/she can add any content he wants (and modules) WOW! As a matter of fact, I have this FEATURE REQUEST open for this specifically but it's not getting traction https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial-feature-request-joomla-menu-items-in-pages-groups-header

Anyhow, I hope to see things move in this direction soon ... Although ES is a magnificent product, it needs to keep evolving to meet market expectations/requirements,

Danny

I think that the current Advertisement system can evolve, and allow for example users to add an ad from the front-end.

I like the concept of Ecwid from Product Catalog. You could imagine the same thing in Groups and EasySocial Pages.

At the same time it would suffice that we can add a menu to a page that displays all the advertisements.
Only one thing is missing, the categories of Advertisements.

There is a lot in common between a Classified, an Advertisement, and Market Place.
