Hi,

Issue 1:
I need EasySocial Events only for group members when the event is created within the group, just like discussions, files and other group only content. It seems when events were added to groups the requirement to be a group member was forgotten. Might this have been fixed in a recent version that I can't see within the changelog? I need the event to be open however, only published within the group, not appearing on the upcoming events widget viewable by all users and only in the event list when the user is a member of the group.

Currently my only options are:
[*] Open - everyone in the community can see and join the event
[*] Closed - users must request to join however everyone still can see the message and the event is not available to all users - the result causes confusion....why do I see an event for a group I am not a member and why cant I join the event etc.
[*] Invite Only - users must be invited - that means I need to select users one by one. For 75 and 200 members of the group - that takes forever.

How can I solve this issue?

Issue 2:
I also note that if I create an invite only event, it still shows up in the upcoming events widget. This contradicts what the new group setup page says about invite only events. This test event does not however show up in the events list page /index.php/community/events. That part appears to work correctly.

Issue 3:
When a user selects Attending the event is correctly removed from the invited category however the event is not included in the My Events category in the filtered list here: /index.php/community/events. The event attending is shown only in the all events filter.

Next when I set the event to featured the event is removed from the All Events category however the event is still counted in the All Events counter and then the event is added to the Featured Events category. All Events list should include all events included featured.

Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Todd
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

You have to hide this "create event" button from the event listing page (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/xqYf6y89 ), so these user only can create event inside the group only.

You can disable "upcoming events widget" from Easysocial backend as well.

But the event privacy is follow back what is your current group type, for example :

Group A - Open group type
- when the user create event inside this open group, the event privacy will under open event.

Group B - Closed group type
- when the user create event inside this closed group, the event privacy will under closed event.

Group C - Invite group type
- when the user create event inside this invite group, the event privacy will under invite event.

Currently my only options are:
Open - everyone in the community can see and join the event
Closed - users must request to join however everyone still can see the message and the event is not available to all users - the result causes confusion....why do I see an event for a group I am not a member and why cant I join the event etc.
Invite Only - users must be invited - that means I need to select users one by one. For 75 and 200 members of the group - that takes forever.

How can I solve this issue?

Don't worry, we have implement 1 custom field (Member Transfer Type) for this situation, you have to add this custom field into your event category.

Once your group members create an event into your group and select this type to 'invite' (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/sSmkYTF49Wop ), system will send out all the invitation email to this group all the members.

So you do not need to invite one by one through the event page.

Issue 2:
I also note that if I create an invite only event, it still shows up in the upcoming events widget. This contradicts what the new group setup page says about invite only events. This test event does not however show up in the events list page /index.php/community/events. That part appears to work correctly.

As long as that is invite event, it will not show in upcoming events widget and event listing page, unless you get invitation and attended for this event.

Issue 3:
When a user selects Attending the event is correctly removed from the invited category however the event is not included in the My Events category in the filtered list here: /index.php/community/events. The event attending is shown only in the all events filter.

I am not really sure how to reproduce this issue in my locally, It should be best if you can setup a test/development site, then you can upgrade your Easysocial from 1.3 to 1.4 and see this issue is it still persists.

Next when I set the event to featured the event is removed from the All Events category however the event is still counted in the All Events counter and then the event is added to the Featured Events category. All Events list should include all events included featured.

This should be solved in latest version 1.4.8.
