First, I'm not a Joomla user though I have installed it once but never use it. It's workflow confuses me until now .

I would like to buy EasySocial and Easy Discuss but I have the following questions:

1) I'll install Joomla on my root domain (mydomain.ext) but I want that the EasySocial frontpage (http://demo.stackideas.com/) will appear there, is it possible?

2) In the homepage, I would like to include activity stream from Easy Discuss, such as "username posted a new topic", "user replied to xxx topic", etc., possible?

3) In the homepage, I would like to have a block of "Latest Forum Topics", "Most Replied Forum Topics", "Unanswered Forum Topics", "Most Voted Topcis", "Top Posters", etc. Let's say I want to have 10 for each, is it possible?

4) Can the URL /easydiscuss be easily change to /custom_forum_url

5) I would like that the /easydiscuss default content is the list of categories (just like the traditional forums), possible?

6) What will happen to the native Joomla registration form if I install EasySocial/EasyDiscuss, will it be replaced by these extension's own registration form?

7) In Joomla, there's already a User Manager but in EasySocial/EasyDiscuss there's also another User Manager. What's the difference on it? What if I edit a user in Joomla's User Manager, will it reflect in EasySocial/EasyDiscuss too? Or vice-versa?

8) In the demo, there are two users list: http://demo.stackideas.com/easysocial/browse-people and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/users Is it possible to have only one users list?

9) Why are the two users list have different data? http://demo.stackideas/easysocial/browse-people has only 5 while http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/users has different users. Are users not tightly integrated between these two extensions?

10) There are also two user profiles/account options for a single user,i.e.:
http://demo.stackideas.com/profile and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/easydiscuss-profile/profile/ashley
http://demo.stackideas.com/profile/edit and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/easydiscuss-profile/profile/edit
Is it possible to have only one profile page and account settings/options?

11) There seems to be other duplicates such as http://demo.stackideas.com/easysocial/conversation and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/conversation, would like to make it as one as well.
Hello Chikka,

Sorry for the late reply. Please find your replies as below,

1) I'll install Joomla on my root domain (mydomain.ext) but I want that the EasySocial frontpage (http://demo.stackideas.com/) will appear there, is it possible?
>> Yes this is possible. Just set the homepage menu item type as "EasySocial -> Unity"

2) In the homepage, I would like to include activity stream from Easy Discuss, such as "username posted a new topic", "user replied to xxx topic", etc., possible?
>> Yes with EasyDiscuss next release this is possible. The release will be quite soon.

3) In the homepage, I would like to have a block of "Latest Forum Topics", "Most Replied Forum Topics", "Unanswered Forum Topics", "Most Voted Topcis", "Top Posters", etc. Let's say I want to have 10 for each, is it possible?
>> Yes you can do this with modules. You can get the free module in the downloads page http://www.stackideas.com/downloads

4) Can the URL /easydiscuss be easily change to /custom_forum_url
>> Yes just set the alias for the manu item to what custom url you want.

5) I would like that the /easydiscuss default content is the list of categories (just like the traditional forums), possible?
>> Yes just set the menu item type for the EasyDiscuss menu item to Categories Layout

6) What will happen to the native Joomla registration form if I install EasySocial/EasyDiscuss, will it be replaced by these extension's own registration form?
>> In EasySocial you can use EasySocial registration form. In EasyDiscuss (without EasySocial) the registration form is Joomla core registration form. However there is now integration where you can set EasyDiscuss login/registration to use EasySocial's.

7) In Joomla, there's already a User Manager but in EasySocial/EasyDiscuss there's also another User Manager. What's the difference on it? What if I edit a user in Joomla's User Manager, will it reflect in EasySocial/EasyDiscuss too? Or vice-versa?
>> The EasySocial/EasyDiscuss user manager simply has more information for you to edit compared to the Joomla user manager.

8) In the demo, there are two users list: http://demo.stackideas.com/easysocial/browse-people and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/users Is it possible to have only one users list?
>> Yes you can remove the link from the toolbar to restrict access

9) Why are the two users list have different data? http://demo.stackideas/easysocial/browse-people has only 5 while http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/users has different users. Are users not tightly integrated between these two extensions?
>> Users are integrated but the view has privacy settings so if you set yourself to not be private then other users can't view you in the browse people page.

10) There are also two user profiles/account options for a single user,i.e.:
http://demo.stackideas.com/profile and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/easydiscuss-profile/profile/ashley
http://demo.stackideas.com/profile/edit and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/easydiscuss-profile/profile/edit
Is it possible to have only one profile page and account settings/options?
>> This can be integrated too with the next release of EasyDiscuss.

11) There seems to be other duplicates such as http://demo.stackideas.com/easysocial/conversation and http://demo.stackideas.com/easydiscuss/conversation, would like to make it as one as well.
>> You can turn off EasyDiscuss conversation and just use the EasySocial's conversation.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Searching for a way to make default view by category and found this thread. I read this answer:

5) I would like that the /easydiscuss default content is the list of categories (just like the traditional forums), possible?
>> Yes just set the menu item type for the EasyDiscuss menu item to Categories Layout

Where can I find the menu item type? I don't see an EasyDiscuss menu in the Menu Manager. Searched through the EasyDiscuss component manager and can't find their either.

Hello RIchard,

I am sorry for the late reply.
You need to create new menu and set menu item type to categories layout.

Hope this will help.
Thanks.
