On each new EasySocial releases i'm getting excited thinking that : "Oh, there is a new release, hopefully they fixed that comments bug"

Unfortunatelly that bug was not addressed yet ... it's a bug or a design flaw that really creates a big impact on EasySocial comments system integrated with third-party components, Joomla's articles in my case.

Currently, the ES comments are totally hidden in Joomla articles for public / guests, only registered members can see them.

There is no privacy setting, no comments setting, no "switch" that will allow guests to read comments.

Even in the current behavior there is no message showing that "comments are available for registered users only, please login)

All that i get it's a totally blank space where the comments area it's placed which it's very annoying and confusing for the user.

Can you guys provide a fix for this ?
I was keeping an eye on the last two EasySocial releases hoping that this will be fixed but it's not yet.

Thanks a lot !
Hello Mist,

Actually it is not a bug. It follows the behavior of the stream in Easysocial. Only a user that has an account in Easysocial will be able to comment and view the comment made.

I get that and it's ok in the context of EasySocial ... but we also have the option to "integrate" EasySocial comments system with other components, "outside" of the EasySocial system.

For example, by default we have a posibillity to integrate EasySocial comments with Joomla Articles ... but those comments are totally hidden for public, creating confusion.

Basically for a guest, nothing it's rendered, no comments, no "please login to view comments" message ... nothing, like there is no comments functionality at all.

It's ok to allow only registered EasySocial users to post comments on Joomla Articles but it's totally wrong to hide from public/ guests the entire comment system hence all the comments posted ... or to don't provide a "switch" in backend for this behavior.

In my case for example i have a comments counter and a comments "tab" on each Joomla article.
A guest will notice that there are 10 comments posted ... but when he will access the comments tab a blank space will show-up because EasySocial will block guests to view the article comments.

I take that as a promise anyway (just kidding).
See what you guys can do about it. I will really love this and i bet many others.

I think it's really mandatory to allow guests to read comments since you guys already went along the path to provide EasySocial comments integration with "external" components (Joomla Articles)

Of course, in the "context" of EasySocial as a "closed system" social network, current behavior makes sense but if we take this a step further and allow "external" integrations this becomes a little odd.

Yeah, we can integrate EasySocial comments with Joomla Articles but nobody will notice them until register and login

Only after the user will register and login he will notice : "Oh, hello darling, there is a comment system here !!! Oh look how much activity on this site on this hidden comment system !"
