Hi Mark,

I have been looking at EasyBlog and I am thinking if I should give this component a try. The main reason for my interest with Easyblog is the integration with EasySocial. I have a few questions and hoping you can clarify these for me. (although some of these questions were already asked in EasyBlog forums, unfortunately I am unable to read them since I havent subscribed to EasyBlog yet).

1) EasySocial Comment Integration: I am surprised to see that I can enable ES Comments for commenting system in EasyBlog. I wasnt aware of that. However, in the demo site I am unable to see a working example of EasySocial comments used in EasyBlog (even when I tried the settings in backend) so I dont know how it actually looks and works. Do you have some screenshots or a working sample of this so I can have a look to understand how the ES comments work when used inside EasyBlog articles instead of the EB's inbuilt comments?

2) What is the main benefit of EasySocial comments when compared to EasyBlog's inbuilt comments?

3) When the EasySocial comment is integrated into Easyblog, are the comments synced both ways? Meaning the comments posted from EasySocial timeline for that article feed update is also added to the comments block under that EB article? (This is something Komento didint do).

4) Does it show a new stream update when comments is made in ES comment inside Easyblog article?

5) Does EB-EasySocial Comment allow subscribing to comments and email notification to subscribers when new comments are posted? How does (and what kind of) email notifications work when using ES comments-EB integration?

6) Does EB-EasySocial comments also award badges and points similar to Komento?

7) Does EB-EasySocial Comments allow 'likes' in comments?
Hello Neel,

1. Do you have some screenshots or a working sample of this so I can have a look to understand how the ES comments work when used inside EasyBlog articles instead of the EB's inbuilt comments?

2. What is the main benefit of EasySocial comments when compared to EasyBlog's build-in comments?
>> You cannot compare EasySocial commenting system and EasyBlog build-in comments since both of them are different component.

3. When the EasySocial comment is integrated into Easyblog, are the comments synced both ways? Meaning the comments posted from EasySocial timeline for that article feed update is also added to the comments block under that EB article? (This is something Komento didint do).
>> Currently, if you integrating Easysocial comment in Backend > Easyblog > Settings > Comments > Integration, the comment you have posted will not be posted in ES stream. As for now, you can use Easyblog comment system so it will posted on ES stream whenever you made a comment.

4. Does it show a new stream update when comments is made in ES comment inside Easyblog article?
>> Please refer no 3.

5. Does EB-EasySocial Comment allow subscribing to comments and email notification to subscribers when new comments are posted? How does (and what kind of) email notifications work when using ES comments-EB integration?
>> Currently, there is no settings for subscribing to comments. However, this EB-EasySocial Comment is behaving just the same as EasySocial where if you likes the comment and if you tag a person in your comment, it will also give notification in EasySocial and email notification.

6. Does EB-EasySocial comments also award badges and points similar to Komento?
>> I believe the current EasySocial have this setting. You need to go to user point and click discover to add new rules.

7. Does EB-EasySocial Comments allow 'likes' in comments?
>> Yes. http://screencast.com/t/U6IUzxfJAV .

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

How about the article author? Will they be notified when there is a comment or is this feature only available in inbuilt EB comment plugin?

What badges are awarded for the inbuilt EB comment plugin? Does it have the same badges as what Komento offers?

Hello Neel,

Regarding your issue:
1. How about the article author? Will they be notified when there is a comment or is this feature only available in inbuilt EB comment plugin?
>> I believe this feature is not available yet in the current system. Currently, this feature is only available with EasyBlog build-in comment.

2. What badges are awarded for the inbuilt EB comment plugin? Does it have the same badges as what Komento offers?
>> The badge offers is commentator in the EasySocial. I believe Komento doesn't have badges by itself. It need to integrate with EasyDiscuss or EasySocial in order to have badges.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

I believe Komento doesn't have badges by itself. It need to integrate with EasyDiscuss or EasySocial in order to have badges.

Sorry, thats what I was referring to if EB built-in comments have the same / similar badges that Komento offers when integrated with EasySocial.

Hello Neel,

I am sorry for the late reply.
Ahh I see. Yes it is the same badges system however, it is a different kind of badges. Komento have these badges:
1 . Add comment = attentiongrabber
2. Like comment = loveydovey
3. Report comment = police
4. Reply comment = discussionbooster
5. Upload attachment = distributor
While EB-EasySocial Comment only have this:
1. Commentator = commentator.

I hope that I explain it well.
Thanks.
