Hello,

The Easydiscuss avatar next to a post does not show the users badges. I have avatars set to integrate with EasySocial. Is there some way to have badges appear, otherwise, there is not much point of assigning them to the user if others can't see they have achieved that. I want to have something like "verified expert" etc appear beside the user's avatar who is answering the question. ED 3 used to have this view.

Hello Jordan,

Hm, not really sure which do you mean here. Are you referring to EasySocial or EasyDiscuss? Can you provide me with some screen shots of these badges with the avatar?

Hi Mark,

The badges of the user writing a post should appear beside his/her name. They used to in ED3. Have a look at this image. The badge should appear at the arrowhead or nearby (this is an ED post with Wireframe template):

hey there,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

In Easydiscuss 4, we already removed those user badges avatar which display on discussion page or listing in Easydiscuss 3.x.

if you would like to display badges on discussion page, you can download my attached file and replace into your current template override and see how it goes.

I think this is great!

I would think it is important for the option to be available to show the badges. For now, this seems to just be a hack for my case and not the core?

Also, the tooltip doesn't show even though I see reference to it in the code. Showing here is protostar:

Actually, I fixed this by adding the tooltip code to the <a> not the<img> (see attached).

Will this be a permanent change to the code? It's such a nice option. Maybe it can be user configurable.

Hello,

This modification no longer seems to work properly, possibly after a recent update. Now, all users who are posting as guests, are assigned the only published badge on the site. Could you look at the code provided above and see why that might be the case.

It really is important to show user badges beside their name in an EasyDiscuss post (like you did in EasyDiscuss 3), otherwise I really think there is no point of having a badge system; no one will know that users have certain badges. Look at the little checkmark on your support avatar, if we didn't see it, how would be know the responder on this forum were Stackideas members?

Sorry....

This is working...not sure what was going on there.

In any event I still think it's very important to have badges beside the post in easydiscuss.

Thanks for your input on this Jordan but the reason that we don't include badges in the post is because when the user has too many badges, the layout becomes really cluttered.

It may not be as easy to achieve a badge on your site so you would probably see between 3 - 5 badges for each users but if a user has 20 - 30 badges, it's going to look really bad and not to mention the performance sacrifice as well.

Thanks Mark,

In our case, we run a forum that is like this one and it's important to know who is posting.

I had to delete the modifications above because it kept assigning badges to Guest users on the post.

I would love to get this working as it is critical in our case to know who is responding to messages and what credentials they have
