Hi,

can a registered community member in ES choose a still free ShortURL that leads to his page, e.g. domain.tld/nickname?
Are such shortURL supported by EasySocial?

Thanks and kind regards
Volker
Hello Volker,

As mentioned by ssnobben, you can achieve short urls like that with the url shortener plugin

Hi,

thanks for your reply!

You write
yes and there is a plg too ...

So what is the difference between the integrated out-of-the-box functionality (which in my opinion should of course already be implemented sufficiently in the core of ES) and the paid plugin?

Thanks and best regards
Volker

(which in my opinion should of course already be implemented sufficiently in the core of ES) you have to use the plugin if you need to have this option as said 2 times already.

You didn't say anything twice at all, but stated once: "yes and there is a plg too".

"too" suggests an alternative in the form of a plugin. And an alternative logically requires another one (e.g. core function), otherwise it would not be an alternative.

Nevertheless, thank you, because it seems to be then so that the functionality I asked is NOT included in the core.

Kind regards
V.

1, "yes and there is a plg too you can test https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3338-url-shortener"

2. "As mentioned by ssnobben, you can achieve short urls like that with the url shortener plugin"

1+1= 2

Apparently, regrettably, my actual question does not come across properly, which may be due to the fact that English is not my native language.

I had asked if EASYSOCIAL supports ShortURL for community members' pages.
By this I mean the CORE of ES and NOT a plugin to be purchased additionally.

If it were so that

1. EasySocial CORE already supports ShortURLs.

I would need
2. shortURL plugin
no longer!

Maybe the actual question has now come across better: Does ES shortURL for Nickpages out-of-the-box?

Based on Mark's information here, I assume that there are just NOT two options for ShortURL, but only one: An additional plugin to be purchased!

Thanks and kind regards

Yes and you can achieve this with the plugin.

"..because it seems to be then so that the functionality I asked is NOT included in the core."

and that mean again that its n o t working like that in core without the plugin. again...

Hello Volker,

EasySocial does not have short urls built-in into the extension. In order for you to activate short urls, you will need to purchase the plugin separately.
