I've used AUP for a long time myself. But I still side with Mark with the idea of why not use ES's built in point system? I personally believe we should make EasySocial's point system as cool as AUP and then have some sort of migration option from AUP for the user points. This way we can use less components and still get the results we want.

As for AUP, it's got cool features like getting points for submitting articles. This encouraged uses to post content! That is something that would be good to see in ES sometime down the road.

Thanks for updating Josh. EasySocial already allows users to be assigned points when they post new articles on your Joomla site In fact, when they read an article in Joomla, they will also be assigned points as well.

Sounds like we are already in a great direction. For those who use extensions that they would like points for various activities, contact those authors about it. Maybe Mark might be able to work something out like he did with the Kunena app. I know the stacked team has their hands full, but I wanted the public to know that when the time is right they might be able to work something out that is "as good as AUP". I don't doubt that ES will some day have the best of many community features all centralized in one extension. With the release of ES 1.2 I am very confident of this.

We are also interested in the plans on ES points system. I have to say that we are also interested in the following as mentioned earlier by Tom:

This is something that we may consider but Alphauserpoints is already discontinued now.

And it´s continued under the name "Altauserpoints".
