We are having issues updating EasyDiscuss on our sites. We have only one domain for support/auto-update but even manual updates are not working. After uploading the full package either nothing happens or the page just freezes.
Hi there,

Can you turn on error Reporting to maximum (System>Global Configuration>Server) https://www.screencast.com/t/R6vwXExSSF0q
and inspect the error that you hitting while installing/update.
Or perhaps, can you provide us with your backend and FTP access so we can help you out?

You can add the information needed by edit your first post in the Details section or you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies

Turning on error reporting revealed nothing..no errors.
The problem is that this is happening on just some of our sites. We only have one site that is supported by you now thanks to your new rules, and that site is updating fine. All of these problems started happening after you no longer allowed us to do one click updates on all other sites. Most of the manual updates fail.
Some of our sites update no problem and others don't update at all...they just spin for awhile then stop without updating. All of our sites are very similar.

I put the login info to one of our sites/ftp that won't update. These sites won't update Easyblog as well. Same issue.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I have no ideas why i hitting this following error when I upload launcher installer from your Joomla backend installer page, it could be this php post_max_size is not set to higher, try consult with your webhosting provider regarding this and help you increase this php value post_max_size set to higher like 64M?

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@carlsbadpoa.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_hive/5.5 mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_fcgid/2.3.6 Server at carlsbadpoa.com Port 80

By the way, if you can reach until inside Easyblog or Easydiscuss installation page step 1, you can follow my instruction below :

1. Go to https://stackideas.com/dashboard download Easyblog full installer

2. Upload full installer zip file into your tmp folder and extract it -> http://take.ms/JEkEs

3. Then go to your Joomla installer page > click on install from folder tab > set the correct path link to your installation zip file location
screenshot : http://take.ms/fo2Oo

4. Once it show Easyblog continue installation, you have to extract that installation zip file from your local and copy this component zip file -> After extracted/setup/packages/com_easyblog_5.0.42_component_pro.zip
Then upload into this file location from your server -> .../administrator/components/com_easyblog/setup/packages
screenshot : http://take.ms/FK0tn

5. After uploaded, then click on install Easyblog button > click next > then select install from directory method and select that component zip file (screenshot : https://www.screencast.com/t/ENGzDC9qjMPX ) then click next.

Can you give it a check is it work fine?

By the way, Easydiscuss also can use this method.

I increased the post_max_size to 64M and it updated both Easyblog and Easydiscuss with no problems.
Kind of odd as all our sites have the same settings and yet several were able to update but that must have been it.
Thanks for you help.
