I am using EasyDiscuss Version: 3.2.9304 on my Joomla 2.5.27 website. Whenever somebody clicks on a particular thread/topic on my EasyDiscuss page, they see the topic they wanted for about 1-2 seconds before the page suddenly gets hijacked to an ad page. On the many thousands of pages my website has, this virus or malware hijacking only happens on the EasyDiscuss threads.

Clearly, my EasyDiscuss program has a virus of some sort. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Once that is done, any suggestions on how to keep it from ever coming back?
Hi Lawrence,

I apologize as I am not quite clear on your issue. What do you mean by "page suddenly gets hijacked to an ad page"? I seems can't replicate this issue on your site from our ends. Perhaps you can tell us how to replicate this issue or can you kindly provide us a video screenshot of this issue so that we can understand this issue better.
By the way, I have checked your site and it seems like you have installed several ads module in your site. I suspected that one of these module is the source of your problem. You can try debug this by disabling some of these module and see which one is conflicting with your site.

Please do update us back on this issue.

All ads were turned off and the problem still happened. It does not happen every time, but often enough that it is driving people away. Click on a thread topic and as the page starts to load, it suddenly gets hijacked and the viewer is looking at a full page ad for feminine products or ways to get fit. (The ads all seem to be female targeted.) This does not happen anywhere else on the website. It is not the Google ads causing this. Clearly, EasyDiscuss has picked up some malware. I am asking if there is something I can do to get rid of the malware. Is there a download that you recommend?

Hello Lawrence,

I am not really sure what you meant by "malware" in EasyDiscuss but that wouldn't make sense because if there's a malware on your site, we would be hit by it as well. I am suspecting that the browser itself could contain some spyware / adware which causes these ads to appear. Try to load up Google Chrome Incognito mode and see if the problem still persists?

This started happening to about two dozen people, located all over America, each using different browsers. It only happens on the EasyDiscuss section of my website, nowhere else.

I am NOT saying that EasyDiscuss is malware. I am saying that on MY website, YOUR EasyDiscuss software has been hacked and I need to get it fixed. If you do not know what "malware" means, please Google it. That should be Tech Support 101.

Let me try to break this down as simply as possible for you guys, since there is an obvious language barrier here...

1. I have your EasyDiscuss software running on my computer. I purchased it from you over two years ago.

2. In the last week, numerous people have started complaining that they cannot see the threads they have clicked on because the page gets hijacked. This happens in all browsers.

3. This does not happen every time, but does happen often.

4. I have a large website with dozens of sections and many thousands of pages. This ONLY happens with the EasyDiscuss pages.

5. I have turned off all ads and this problem still exists. The problem is clearly located somewhere within EasyDiscuss.

6. I am asking for how we can get this fixed.

Is there anybody on the StackIdeas Tech Support team that knows anything about anti-virus protection for EasyDiscuss and Joomla that can answer this pretty simple question?

Hello Lawrence,

Firstly, I do understand and I am definitely aware of what a malware is but I am really sorry as I misunderstood your post into understanding that you are claiming EasyDiscuss contains malware.

I am not really sure how to reproduce this issue on your site and not really sure where is this being triggered. You mentioned that numerous people complaint that there's a malware on the site as they cannot see the threads but which particular thread are you referring to?

I have been browsing your message board for almost 30 minutes now but don't seem to hit the issue that you have mentioned.
