I'm bit lost here, can you describe in details how to replicate this? Which page that your screenshot is reffering to? Is it home page? because as I want to replicate this in EasyDiscuss 3.x I cannot reproduce it. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

This is Easydiscuss 4x and not 3x
I have just changed the avatar and the theme used is Zinc Theme (as you dont have simplistic theme in ed4)
Testing on localhost on joomla 3.6.2 by trying to upgrade

Can you try download the attached file and replace it into
JOOMLA_FOLDER\components\com_easydiscuss\themes\zinc\posts\item.php
and see how it goes?

p.s: You are suggested to backup the file that you want to replace beforehand
