Hi Guys,
I am interested in using EasyDiscuss on a new site I am developing.
I need to know if EasyDiscuss will support multiple users submitting their posts via email?
The site will be used by a company and their staff. Some of the company managers will want to submit new posts via email.

For example, in the forum I would like to have some special categories like this:

Announcements by CEO
Announcements by Area Managers
Announcements by Sales Managers

Let's say our CEO is called John Smith. John could send an email to easydiscussceo@mysite.com and his email would be posted into the CEO category as a forum post for all to see.

Is this possible?

Thank you for your reply.

Can I ask what would happen if I needed more than 2 people to be able to post to the same category using the email? Let's say that Darren and Steve are both CEO's of the company. Would they both post to "easydiscussceo@mysite.com" and how would their post be displayed? Would it be displayed as "admin" or would their senders email address dicatate the user who posted the message?

Sorry Mark - one additional question...

As part of the user registration process I will require users to input additional information such as "store number" and also "position" etc. to be able to build a profile that allows other users to see whom they are talking to. I was planning on using Community Builder for this.

If I do this, how will users in the forum be able to view the extended Community Builder profile page?

Hello Chris,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply, missed this post earlier Yes, they just need to send an email to the configured email and their posts will be displayed in that category. It is also provided that their email is also linked to a valid user account in Joomla too

If you have decided to use CB, you can configure EasyDiscuss to link to CB. You can load up CB's avatar within EasyDiscuss too (Although I would suggest that you use EasySocial instead )
