The "message" feature doesn't seem to do anything. How is it supposed to work? Does it require that eMail be enabled?

I'd like a way to send direct messages to users on the board, and I'm able to send messages, but no one receives them. I looked in the settings but couldn't find anything that seemed to relate to this feature.
Hi Kevin,

I could not reproduce this issue locally.

It looks like I do not have super user access to the backend to test the issue on your site(http://take.ms/HG1zf).

Please advice. Thanks.

Restored superuser access.
Please restrict all activity to the "DRAFT" categories. Do not read or post anything in the Hero's Journey forums.

Hey Kevin,

I tried to access your site but don't seem to see any message buttons and upon looking at your settings, it looks like the message button in the toolbar has been explicitly disabled. Were you referring to http://take.ms/mAWx1 ?

No. I'm talking about this:

I don't see where there is a toolbar message button to be enabled or disabled. I can't find that in the settings.

Hey Kevin,

For users to access their messages, you have to enable the conversation button in the toolbar.

Currently these settings on your site is preventing the button from being shown.

1. Settings>Layout>Toolbar>Show Conversations http://take.ms/NjYdF
2. ACL>usergroup>Profile>Allow Private Message http://take.ms/Ml9E5

Thank you.

Why are "Messages" called "conversations" in the toolbar? That's extremely confusing.
The ACL was set correctly ("Registered" users have no permission on the board, but other groups do). Once I put the button back in the toolbar, the messages were there.

Hey Kevin,

You're most welcome.
Why are "Messages" called "conversations" in the toolbar? That's extremely confusing.
You do have a point here. Perhaps we can change the wording of the ACL from "Allow Private Message" to "Allow Conversations".

My suggestion would be the reverse. I don't know what you mean by "conversations" but I'm quite aware of what private messages are. I think most people probably see this as a Private Message feature.

Hey Kevin,

'Conversations' basically mean the messages sent back and forth between 2 participants. When we send a user a private message, it actually starts a conversation(http://take.ms/2JIeh).
