I upgraded to Joolma yesterday, and today noticed that I cannot post in Discuss. I'm asked to enter a Captcha, but there is no box available to do so. The comments all look really weird, and have the same issue. I tried to go check settings, and cannot navigate past the initial screen on any page (can't get to the tabs). I can only navigate in teh backend by the top menu under Components, not on the component menu itself.

EasySocial also seems to feel EasyDiscuss is not installed.

Regarding with that recaptcha issue, can you try download my attached file and replace into this file location and see how it goes?

JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easydiscuss\includes\post\post.php

And the tab can't click issue, I still unable to figure it out yet, but I temporary help you switch the Easydiscuss environment mode to `development`, it should clickable now, can you give it a check?

By the way, can you update us with your FTP access so we can continuous troubleshoot this issue?

Do you mean when you update to latest version of Easysocial, but it still show older version?

If yes, can I have the permission to help you update to latest version of Easysocial? If you have any customization done before, can you temporary do a full backup?

OK, I tried taking the upgrade again today. The other day when I did this, it said it completed but the old version still showed in the backend. Today it seems to have taken, but I am still not able to click on the tabs in settings. For example, in General Settings I can edit the first table for Login & Authentication, but when I click on Composing, nothing happens. The URL at the top goes to https://knowndonorregistry.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&view=settings#ed-composer, but the screen does not change. This is happening on Firefox, Chrome and IE, so it's not a browser issue.

Just like the other day, the "checking for updates" is stuck in spinning, and the current version is not displayed. The dashboard seems pretty broken, no recent activity showing. By the time I logged in this morning it had resolved from the other day and just showed the old version still.


After updating the post.php file, I am now getting an error on all posts when they are clicked on. Yikes!!

Will try reinstalling the update and see if that fixes it, but the file definitely does NOT. I don't want captcha at all, but since I can't navigate in the back end, I can't turn it off.

Some users on my site have managed to post some things, so... not sure how they are doing that.

I've help you temporary switch Easydiscuss environment mode to `development`, you should able to click the tab setting now. By the way, your FTP access I still unable to connect, can you help?

May i know do you have used Cloudflare cache system? If yes, is it possible temporary disable it?

You shouldn't re-upload the fix, since you already updated to latest version of Easydiscuss. Because my above fix file already out-dated. By the way, I already help you update to latest version again. It should work fine now.

Yes, actually I can see your FTP and I can able to connect with your FTP now.


I do have Cloudflare, but it shouldn't be necessary to turn this off. If you feel it is, can you please explain what it is causing an issue with?

I suspect Cloudflare conflict with Easydiscuss the way it load the script on the webpage so causing all the thing can't able to click, if that is possible, keep me update once you temporary turn off your Cloudflare system and purge cache from server.

Because I would like to get rid out of this possibility if the issue is not related Cloudflare.

I upgraded to the new version, and am now getting javascript:void in the backend on all menu items until Categories. I can't even put it back in development mode.

Cloudflare has never been an issue, and I am not willing to now run it on this site. I have turned it off temporarily, but it must be able to function with it running in the long run. Turning it off and purging the cache did not change any of the issues I am still having that I can see.

It's not functioning on the front end, either. Please assist me in correcting this, I have never had these kinds of issues with StackIdeas components in the past. I will turn Cloudflare back on tomorrow, so hopefully you have time to look at this today.

Hello Beth,

I've tried to change your Easydiscuss to Production mode and everything (backend and frontend) is working as intended to me here. Am I missing anything?
