Hi. Using on an Intranet with AD controlled user login. When a user views a post, if they click reply, right now they get taken to Your Reply at the footer of the page - this shows a Register links (that redirects to the Joomla login page) and to the right a login form - but the login form doesn't seem to be the Joomla one because I turned off Remember me and forgotten pasword/username links. Can this be hidden? Or better still, if a user isn't logged in, can they immediately be sent to the joomla login page if they click reply or try to do anything in EasyDIscuss that requires them to be logged in?

thanks, mark

Hello Mark,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Unfortunately we do not have this option to disable it, but you can remove the code from this file JoomlaFolder/components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/form.reply.login.php

Or better still, if a user isn't logged in, can they immediately be sent to the joomla login page if they click reply or try to do anything in EasyDIscuss that requires them to be logged in?

>> You can configure from your Joomla backend > Easydiscuss > Setting > ACL > select your user group
Hope this help.

Brilliant! Thanks Arlex - I just found and edited form.reply.login.php just before I read your reply

So I removed the remember/forgot links which is good. Maybe for future version, you guys don't need your own login page and it automatically takes the user to the Joomla login? That would be great and save modifying your ace component??

Thanks, mark

Hi - my new intranet went live today -which is great but I don't know if this is related but when a user looks at replies in EasyDiscuss and is told to log in to reply, when they do login (using the register here button), they're redirected to their Joomla profile page, not back to where they were in EasyDiscuss. This doesn't happen with Easyblog.

FYI, I commented out the whole login form on this page so that they must click the Register Here button.

thanks, mark

Hello Mark,

Sorry for late reply to this,
You have to check your user group in the category, is it you set the permission to user group can't view the reply?
Is it possible provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on your 2 issues here? Please advise.

Hi Arlex - it's a registered only forum - it's on an Intranet (secure NHS network) so remote access is not possible. The question is, when a user is in EasyDiscuss and wants to post/reply they need to log in. That's good. But once they log in if being directed by Easydiscuss, they are redirected to the Joomla user profile page not back to easydiscuss. By default, my Joomla is told to redirect people back to the same page upon login. Easydiscuss doesn't seem to abide by this. Easyblog does however.

No - that works fine for you. For me, I click the button to register, get redirected to the Joomla login form, log in and then see the Joomla user profile. I don't get redirected back to easydiscuss as you do. I'll check the modifications I made to the login form in easydiscuss because I had to remove the Forgot Username/Password as authentication is provided by LDAP. I'll check for errors, put it back to the default, try again and advise.

PERFECT! Thanks for the video link Arlex - I took the comments out of the login form and the redirect worked just as yours. So, I kept the simple login form, hid the register button and the forgot password links.

thanks again, mark

Arlex - sorry - if I go to easydiscuss as a non-logged in user, click "Ask a question" i still get redirected to the Joomla login form and then redirected to the joomla user profile screen.

In Settings/General/Workflow/Post, redirect after post is set to "default" and login provider set to Joomla.

Hello mark semczyszyn,

It okay If you're using the latest version of Easydiscuss, when a non-logged in user click the Ask button, it should redirection to the Joomla registration page,
I believe that you have change the code to link to getLoginLink from the code file, then when you login from the Joomla login form, it should be redirection to the Joomla user page.
