I was able to change the "forums" naming convention.
Everything seemed to work fine.

Here is where I am having a slight issue;

They should have been re-directed to either sign in and "forums" should not be showing; as I like to remove the word from all website context.

I have seen this index page show up a few times since working with easydiscuss. Is there anyway to remove "index"?

Thought it would be a permission issue, but I couldn't find where exactly it would be located for both.

By the way, in order to retrieve the search module for easydiscuss, one must be on "engage" aka forums. I decided to implement the easydiscuss search module for all of the "forums" area. Then on the blog area, they would utilize easyblog search module. As I have decided to implement easydiscuss for comments and without doing this, we would have duplicate search results.

By default, it will redirect to forums page when the guest do not have permission to create discussion on your site.

Perhaps you can try display one of the login module on your page right position, so user can able to login.

And I will log this into our tracker, I will see if we can change this behaviour in next release version.

Regarding with your second issue, I already help you change to use this routing behaviour Use Menu ItemId Determined By EasyDiscuss from backend, it should work fine without duplicate those URL, can you give it a check?

You're welcome

Actually you can replace this "forums" alias to other, what you need to do is create hidden menu item for Easydiscuss forum layout.
But for the redirection one we will try change this behaviour in next release version.
