When a user logs with edit rights logs in to my Joomla site, all of the EasyDiscuss discussions/postings do not display but once they log out, the discussions/postings like normal. As a Super User, I do not have this issue. But the editors and registered users cannot see the postings when logged in. Please help.

Also, I installed this file for the post below because I did not want the "Ask a Question" button to be displayed to the public but only to registered/editors users. Not sure if there is a connection but wanted to let your team know.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated as now my users cannot see any postings/discussions.

Thanks
Hello Tuan,

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here? Also you can provide us the account from Editors or Registered usergroup so that we can replicate the issue.

Unfortunately my site is a internal site, which needs to be accessed through VPN. Could you set up a webex where I could share my screen?

But so the groups that cannot see the discussions once logged in, have "Registered" as the parent group. But it is strange, I have another group with "Registered" as the parent and they see the discussions fine. So both are setup the same way, I am not sure what is going on.

The only difference would be that I created the groups that cannot see the postings after installing the file (I linked to in previous post). And the groups that are able to see fine were created before installing the file above. Not sure if this is something we should explore

But where can I check to help troubleshoot this issue? This is becoming quite urgent now within my company.

Thanks so much for your time.

In addition to the last reply, I have attached screenshot of what the usergroup sees once logged in.

It says, "There are no discussions create here". But there are 62 discussions you can see once logged out.

Hello Tuan,

I'm sorry but we didn't prefer video conferencing. However, is it possible for to revert back the changes you have made based previously, in other words, replace the original file before you install the file given here: http://stackideas.com/forums/disable-ask-button-only-for-public-but-enable-for-logged-in-users . Or you can just reinstall Easydiscuss. You don't have to worry about the data. It will not delete your Easydiscuss tables. To be safe, make a backup of your site first before reinstall.

I tried replacing the searchbar.php with the original file and still facing the issue.

So the 2 new usergroups I created with parent "Registered" cannot see the discussions when logged in.
- Are there controls that I can troubleshoot that control which usergroups can see the discussions?
- All usergroups should be able to see the postings/discussions, is this correct?

Thanks

Yay! That worked! Thanks so much!

But two questions,

- I have many categories, is there a way to add my 2 new usergroups to ALL categories? or do I need to do it one by one?

- How do I remove the "Reply" section once inside the discussion, in the screenshot attached? I do not want to have my users think they do not have certain rights.

Thanks so much again!

- I'm sorry but there is no way to do that.

- Please replace the attached file in: ../components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/post.php and see how it goes.

The post.php file did not make the correct changes.

It changed,
- "Your Reply" to "Your Response"
- Added two buttons above the discussion and below the toolbar, View Replies button and View Response button

I only wanted to remove/hide the "Your Reply - Sorry you are not allow to reply to this discussion" area below the discussion.

Can you offer some help on this again please?

Thanks so much again

Hello Tuan,

Please use the attach file instead. This will completely remove Reply form on that page. By the way, we can't further provide you with this customization as this is beyond our support scope.
